You're right, he's done a good job under the circumstances. The club has been mismanaged, but not by Clark. I've nothing against the lad.
He's not been great though. Took him far too long to get rid of dinosaurs like fazackerly and McDermott, by which time the rot had well and truly set in.
The problems he had in getting rid of players weren't his fault. Many of them had contracts which had no relegation clause in them, and so they simply stayed put. Zigic for example has had a pay rise year on year, despite relegation, and he's reportedly on £70,000 p/w. Ian Danter was on TalkSport last week talking about it.
