The Championship Final Day - Relegation and Playoff Spots

The last day of the Championship is shaping up to be a canny one.

A point separates Reading (who host Burnley) and Brighton (who go away to Nottingham Forest) for the 6th place playoff spot.

At the bottom, Yeovil and Barnsley are down but there's one relegation spot left and Birmingham look in real danger of dropping down, with Doncaster, Millwall and Blackpool all in contention.

Games all kick off at 12:15pm so something to watch before we play.

You'd assume Leicester wpuld be professional enough to beat Doncaster which means that Birmingham need to get a point at Bolton to survive.

Don't know who I'd like to go down more. Clark or Dickov.

The fact that Birmingham look like going down is one of the main reasons I'd fear the Championship. They finished 9th a few years back, have been in Europe more recently than us- the likes of Gardner, Larsson, Roger Johnson, Scott Dann got them 9th place.

And even their squad- Neal Eardley, Paul Robinson, Macheda, Lovenkrands, Zigic, Jonathan Spector- all those players played in the Premiership. and the likes of Jordan Ibe, Chris Burke. They mightn't have been very good, but there's still 300+ Premier League appearances between them. We might have been stuck with the same, stragglers from the Premier League who aren't even fully arsed at that level.

It is pretty scary like. I read a stat from Sporting Intelligence cited by Roker Report the other day that said if you go down there's a 50% chance of not coming back up and a 30% chance of further relegation!

didnt realize it was the last day, thought it had another week or two.

The last day of the prem is in less than two weeks man!
yes very true, i suppose you don't focus on the long term if your just looking to the next game as i am at the moment, but the fact its over in two weeks feels fleshing

Yeah it's scary but it's worth pointing out that our lowest league position for nearly 20 years is 3rd top of the championship. Obviously that includes two squads relegated as the worst teams in top flight history (cheers Derby).
It's always a possibility it would go t*ts up but I be fairly confident if, god for bid, we go down we'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season.
