The centre backs today

Need to get one of them in alongside Ballard simply for their height at the back, both are stronger in stature than ONien too.
None of them have the ball playing abilities like O'Nien does.. he's an important part of the build up play

They definitely weren't as adept at our style of playing out from the back as the usual back two, but they did alright given the circumstances. That said I hope we never have to play the pair of them together again this season.
Literally shaking my head. Hope your kids are allowed mistakes

Was getting told they were shite on instagram after praising them both.

Typical nonsense from the same idiots expect the young lads to be world beaters after day one. Same lads who thought ekwah and amad were shite after two games

Triantis is more of a ball playing CB. Seelt looks like a destroyer

Not like I'm writing them off is it?

As you said yourself, they're kids. The two of them together do not currently inspire confidence. I have no doubt that will change with time as they clearly both have talent, but for the time being I'm very much hoping Ballard doesn't miss many more games.

You are right …

But if we create 10 goals over a season by playing out from the back, we probably concede more by being shite at defending set pieces and pulling down attackers.

Understandably looked nervy with it being their first start, Triantis only finding out after the warm up.

Thought they grew into the game and looked more comfortable second half. Very raw and still both only 20 year old. Well done to them. Potential is there.
Nervy early doors, yes. I thought Triantis was trying a bit too hard (talk about being chucked in at the deep end in front of 40,000!) and Seelt took a while to snap out of playing at school playground pace. Problem first half at least was they were continually being played into trouble by the midfield 3 - particularly Ekwah - constantly losing possession easily, making poor decisions and putting the defence under needless pressure. Yes, they both let a few stray passes go, but the centre mids were worse. It got better second half, although there was still sloppiness throughout the team. I don’t really know how we won 3-1, except that Birmingham’s defence was very poor; I’m so glad we didn’t sign Sanderson.
On the whole, the two lads did well, though against a better team we may have been punished for our profligacy with the ball. However, it wouldn’t have been all the CB’s fault, by any means. Anyway, Tony tightened it second half and got the midfielders to focus more, which was good.
Great that the two lads got a full game each - vital even. It’ll do their confidence the world of good. Both look like they have a lot of potential. Onwards and upwards and more newbies ‘blooded’!

Well done to them both. Thrown in and we won the game 3 1 . That's all I care about so job done lads. Will do their confidence the world of good and now we all can see either can step in when needed

That’s it like twitter and Instagram completely eclipse this place for impatient dribblers, I deleted all me social media a couple of weeks back. Utterly draining.

You are right of course. I got rid of it all a canny few years ago now, apart from instagram as it’s important for my work. Some f***ing morons on their as well.

I agree it was a good game for our new young’uns. The two CBs blooded, Rusyn looking very dangerous, goal for Adil, and a first appearance for Mayenda who didn’t look too shabby at all after so much time out.

Can't disagree with that. We are much better off just hoofing the ball up the field

 I didn’t say/type that.

We didn’t ‘hoof’ it today without Ballard and 09, we obviously have a style of play that’s indoctrinated into the squad.

If Seelt is a better defender than 09 and can pass the ball with 80% of 09’s ability then I’d prefer the better defender.

Seelt did well on most levels, Triantis not so much with his positional play letting him down. But been asked to play just before the game must be difficult and overall defended well. Seelt - 7/10, Triantis- 5.5/10.
He was asleep at one stage in the first half, then some up with the ball at his feet.. Not once was he switched on and looked well rattled with the pace of the game but he did recover well second half.

Did quite well in the circumstances and great experience. Will need four players happy to fit in at CH with thirty games to go and these lads will be up to it the more chances they get. Would be happy with either alongside Ballard. Factor in Alese too and much better circumstances than last season.

Thought they both grew into the game….imo seelt was more impressive than triantis overall, although o’nien is captain I think seelt has given Mowbray something to think about
