The Brazilian Ronaldo

Fat Ronald:cool: aside. I saw him play in New York a few times. He was unreal, as was the hype around him. This was his undoing in the end. If, as in the Gazza thread, great players have a great, sometimes egotistical mindset, then this is what let him down. It's why Christiano will always be better.
Ronaldo didn't have any personal issues like that. It was his knees that hampered him

Zero egotistical mindset there

Edit: In fact, shame on you for suggesting otherwise and besmirching Ronaldo's good name and standing in the beautiful game

Certainly up there as one of the best strikers of all time.

Messi and Ronaldo are hard to compare with him as the game has changed so much / they are very different types of players. He couldnt do what they do but also they could do what he did (play on the last man, poach, burn players for pace).

They’re both absolutely rapid man

Messi gets faster when he was the ball as well.

Well he isn't known as that, and even if he was it have more to do with the fact that the other Ronaldo is still bloody playing.

CR fitness record is incredible, cant remember him ever having major long term issues problems and rarely seems to miss games. Quite outstanding given he spends half his life being the target for defenders kicking him...Real testament to his professionalism and incredible physique and strength.

So that's it then, we all agree the Brazilian was the best centre forward ever and the Portuguese the best winger.

Sorry mate, Ronaldo is currently a centre-forward, has been for about two or three seasons. And he's much better than the Brazilian one. Just look at the numbers.

The Brazilian one is a World Cup legend, but his career outside of that - those few heady seasons at PSV/Barca aside - were nothing special if we're comparing the very best of players. Wheels fell off when he went to Inter.

CR's pace when they are on the break is incredible. The number of times you see somebody miles ahead of him taking the ball down the wing and he makes up staggering amounts of ground to get into the box for the cross...Stupidly quick over short bursts but must be one of the quickest once he is out of the blocks and in full flight.

Hes never been as good a footballer as the other was at his peak, which is the point of the thread. Before his injury he was going past four and five players regularly like they weren't even there.

Stats wise this one is ridiculous tbf. But then the game is now very geared up towards the attacker.

Yep. See him against Spain where he went through the gears to leave them for dead where he laid it off to the young un who fucked it up.

Don't see him running much with the ball mind, more someone who runs onto it.
