Romario pisses all over him.
Always underated when he was at NorwichNever heard of him. Any footage?
Edit: glad you edited. My favourite ever player. But not as good.
You have mistitled the Marco Van Basten threadFeel sorry for those who didn't get to witness the best centre forward to ever play the game at his peak.
To me he was on a par with George Weah - both had very similar stylesBest CF in the world during the late 90's/early 00's by far, but nowhere near the level of C.Ronaldo or Messi. Excellent poacher and fast as fuck. Would beat anyone in a 1-v-1.
The fact he’s known as ‘The Brazilian Ronaldo’ says it all.
He was a top player but nowhere near Cristiano like.
That was before CR overshadowed him and adopted the “real Ronaldo” moniker. Even when ya Google Ronaldo now, the Brazilian comes way down the list of hits. What about when people call him "The Real Ronaldo"?
At his peak he was as good as CR, just didn't stay at his peak for as long.

I blame the jellyfishA lot of footballers seemed to piss on each other in those days. Odd behaviour IMO
In his era he was the best, not sure about best ever.Feel sorry for those who didn't get to witness the best centre forward to ever play the game at his peak.
Agree. Ronaldo was better than RomarioNever heard of him. Any footage?

Fat Ronaldaside. I saw him play in New York a few times. He was unreal, as was the hype around him. This was his undoing in the end. If, as in the Gazza thread, great players have a great, sometimes egotistical mindset, then this is what let him down. It's why Christiano will always be better.
