The Aurier Goal

It's horrendous. Football has took a backward step.
When you're ruling out goals by the millimetre, the moment the ball is played has to be absolutely exact and is there any way to ensure this? Thought it was incredibly harsh and if it's not obvious there is doubt at immediate viewing should it even be analysed at all?

Should never be used when it's that close.

It's like being micro managed at work. Imagine being a linesman and being told you got that wrong and 15 others like it at your annual appraisal. You moron!

Of course it should. VAR is being used to protect the referees from making errors. It was (i thought) supposed to be utilized to correct clear and obvious errors. How is someones elbow being 6 inches off-side a clear and obvious error. Total joke.

The fuckwits on TV who scrutinised every refereeing decision and demanded VAR are now moaning about it, it needs the equivalent of umpires decision or just revert to the referee is always right

How about a three challenge rule like in tennis? If you're wrong, you lose a challenge. Will also stop all the huge waits as every decision is checked.

It’s a stupid situation. Where’s the advantage to the attacking player in those millimetres, there isn’t one so the rule itself is wrong. If it’s only visible to some geek in a cubicle and not clear to the officials at the ground then it’s very unlikely to be an advantage. Far better to live with the occasional referee error. And it’s spoiling the game as a spectacle.
