[the ashes] test 3. Manchester

The most important thing for me is that we made it to close. We need to make them bowl for an hour in the morning whatever happens. If we fall short of 328 then they can bowl again. They have bowled really well today-better than we did mostly-but they will be tired, especially Harris and Watson whose creaking bodies might let them down at any time.

But I also think we need the rain to come if we are to save this one. This series is very much alive now.

Who wanted to drop him :-?

Are you making stuff up to suit your own agenda?

Consettsafc and at least three or four others off the top of my head, scan the 1st Test thread.....

Anyway, rain around on Monday should make this a draw now, barring accidents in the morning. Fair play to Ozzy, much better performance.

Correct and i still would not have him anywhere near the squad. He got lucky today.

both apparently...just fancied getting one for the CLS test

they're great, and yeah you can get both radio or the tv commentary on them. i also assume you could use them here if anyone was coming down for the series here as they're available here too, so you're getting better value for money (i'm sure that could be clarified).

Big first hour tomorrow.

If we save the follow on, that takes at least a session out in which they can't bowl at us. Add that to the weather and we're fine.

That's got to be the target tomorrow, if we get to 328 it would take a monumental fuck up on our part to lose this test from there. The Aussies wouldn't have time to add more than about 100 to our target while still allowing themselves time to bowl us out. That's before the rain even comes into it.

My worry is those 34 runs, the pressure will be huge first thing tomorrow.
