England slowly turning into Australia here

Nah Australia just stopped being shit. England are playing almost exactly as they have done all series. Largley good, occasionally very good bowling, conservative fields, mediocre opening batting.

In 25 years and about 60 Test matches I have never heard a reception like the one given to Warner today, absolute proof that cricket is the new football. Massive shame IMO.

Awful decision to send a nightwatchman in with 30 minutes left.

Not as warm today, lovely day of cricket and I'm not absolutely done in like yesterday.

An Aussie who punches an England player isn't allowed to get stick? Didn't England players used to get absolute dogs abuse when they fielded on the boundary down in Aus?

Aye. And the barny army have been getting drunk and generally been rowdy for the twenty years I've been watching at least.

People saying cricket is the new football and the like are just trying to score points IMO. Like fans saying their favourite band has gone commercial.

Never heard one of the many many fine spokespeople of the sport on the likes of TMS be anything but glad of its increasing popularity

Was listening to Boycott earlier on TMS and he says he deserved it...He would of been gobsmacked if the crowd hadn't given him the bird and he fully expects the CLS and the Oval crowds to do exactly the same

Dont understand why cook or even bresnan himself did not review that !!!

A bit of sledging, and bit of banter.

Chanting 'scum' at a batsman as he walks in is just shite behaviour, it's football behaviour, not cricket. Absolutely indefensible and shame on the crowd today for doing it.

Points scoring FFS.

But only when an Aussie had never assaulted an English player (unless there's an example I have forgotten).

Was that the same sledging from the Aussie fans that saw Simon Jones being given dogs for having the audacity to get injured on the concrete outfield of the Gabba?

Warner's reception was as a result of his own actions and fully deserved.
