Hey its a photo from the 70s so poor quality.
Probably a baked potato - remains of. I think it was New Year's Eve. Baked potato was a tradition. Not sure why the Hamster (rip Midge) is there.

Lately though I’ve become more nostalgic for the seventies.

Sunday afternoons watching The Ghosts of Motley Hall.
Porn in bushes - already mentioned
Getting my first pair of DM boots. Wanted the 12 hole but was only allowed the 8 hole ones. I think the numbers are right.
Liking the Bay City Rollers - I was only 9/10 man!
Going to Crowtree Leisure Centre and looking over the balcony to the pool entrance/exit - apparently you could see girls boobies from a certain angle. I never worked out the mythical geometric panacea.
Getting ‘slaps nee returns’ at school after a haircut.
Probably so much more.

Sparks
Platform shoes
Oxford bags
Hating the Osmonds
Not getting a star jumper because Mam said they were common.
Jeans with plaited detail on the bum
Decor - either brown, green or hideous patterns.
Dad smoking cigars
Baseball boots
Trying to avoid the shower after games
Getting my first bra
Smiths Bovril crisps!!

Nice one, SoS, and thanks, for jogging, the old memory. (I used to have some black Cords, in the 70's)
I was aged 7 in 1970, and remember the Baseball boots well.
I used to wear, the black & white ones, in the early 70's & had some Ski boots, too.
Later in that decade, I had pairs of Jod's, Dubs, DM's, and black Brogues.

In 1979, I remember I spray painted my DM's red, white and black, for Sunderland matches, home and away.
The outer edges of the soles, were sprayed black, the boot was sprayed Fire Engine Red (the official shade of red, for SAFC shirts) and the laces were brilliant white.
I looked a proper picture, with my skinhead, and brightly painted DM's, which stood out, at the match

Happy days, happy memories, and decent football, too.
