It does seem like his single minded commitment to financial fair play and cost cutting might come back to bite him on the arse. We were awful last season, we then lost four first team players. He got lucky with staying up and had to realise that even whilst being frugal there needs to be an element of speculating to accumulate. Instead he bafflingly watched as we got worse. What did he think would happen when a team that survived by the skin of their teeth replaced Bardsley, Ki, Colback and Borini with Jones, Gomez, Rodwell and Alvarez?

Our side is like some sort of sick joke, an example of everything that is bad (in money terms) about modern football and SAFC under Ellis Short.

Defence: A crock who came on a Bosman free on good wages and has managed to start 9 games all season. Two players, one 35 and and one 33, both absolutely past it, at the fag end of huge 4 year contracts given to them at the fag end of their careers. Oh and we've renewed one of the fuckers! Cover is provided by a clown, and a waste of a loan signing who has started 4 games and was signed because of his nationality.

Midfield: Where to start? The £10m 'statement signing' who the game passes by, each week, without fail. The Italian international bought for £8m who hasn't fitted our system - across any of the three managers he has played for while he has been here (and has started 2 games all season). The Championship reserves who were brought in because they once played for a manager who is no longer here. The Argentinian international who has started 5 games this season, but who we may be obligated to buy for £8m.

Forwards: The striker bought four years ago, for a fee rising to £13m, the boy wonder who was given his £50k / £60k a week contract because he had one good month in four years. The £10m winger who has been charged with underage sex. The £14m striker whose goals, when you factor in fees and wages, in the last three years, have literally cost more than £1m a goal. The £5m striker who has been playing for us for two years and hasn't scored goal in any competition for us.

I hate this team more than I've hated a team before (the 2002-3 side were a disgrace but at let some of those had had good moments while they were here).

f***ing hell, that has nearly reduced me to tears.

Spot on. And here's the scarey bit, there much, much more shite we can add to that...

Quinn dragged this club back from it's knees when we were plummeting towards League One and by appointing Keane and backing him got us back to be an established Premier club.
Short has completely fucked that up over the last few years and how anyone can defend Short and continue to blame Quinn for this mess is beyond belief !

fair points, Keano put us back on the footballing map make no bones about it, we had something about us in the Keano days, now we are a shipwreck and have been for a while. Short may not have seen eye to eye with him but he has just fuct us up even more ever since.
