Thank You And Good Luck, Tony!

I loved Uncle Tone and did not want him sacked. That being said, in hindsight I’m glad they did it when they did it. You could sense unrest starting to develop amongst some of our fans, Christ I’ve been avoiding this message board the past few weeks as didn’t need the negativity sprouted by some bedwetters on here in my life. Tony is a good man with honest intentions, he’s been able to leave with his reputation possibly enhanced, and his relationship with the majority of fans in tact!

First sacked manager in my time since '85 I've loved.
Genuinely good man, I'd like to meet him in a random place and thank him.

Let's see who's next, might (hopefully) be a masterplan by KLD.
We live in hope.

There are a few on here who never liked him from the day he was appointed and continued to blame him for everything tbf.
And it's been like that with Speakman too. There's a quite a few that have really struggled with how KLD has wanted to do things since he arrived. I'm not suggesting Speakman is perfect and KLD was clear in his first ever interview that there would be bumps in the road. However we started from such a low base I find it difficult to understand how some can't see the progress that's been made. Progress of which Mowbray played his part, but we move on.

There’s still a massive misconception by people who didn't want Mowbray sacked, that those who do think it was time to do it, hated him.
Yep. I was surprised, but take a step back & it makes sense. Time for the next burst of progression. & that doesn’t necessarily mean signing loads of players for big money. We’ve been through that in the 2010s.

Agree with this, judging by Mowbray's comments it's been on the cards for a while. Good luck to him, he's certainly changed my view of him.

Rooney at Birmingham 8 away losses on the bounce still in a job

yet TM gets the bullet after a dodgy spell
Like comparing apples with pears. Situations, running of a club, plans, playing staff are totally different.

If Birmingham get relegated doesn’t make them right & us wrong.

I think they’re in the minority though. We wasn’t greatly received but the vast majority saw what a good job he did for a while
They might have been in the minority but they’ve been banging the drum long enough on here, they have selective memories when it comes to how he had us playing some of the best football in recent memory, the owner has decided he thinks we will do better without him and that is fair enough.

I admit I overreacted after the Huddersfield loss, yes he got the tactics wrong but there are far bigger problems at the club than the head coach. His hands were tied and some little muppet with a spreadsheet thinks he knows better than a man with over forty years of experience in the game.

Wish Speakman would just piss off like and take his iPad with him
Good God , each to their own but , other way around for me. Rather have Speakman sorting a young progressive coach. Good luck and thanks Tony, you did a decent caretakers job. Time for us to move on to the next stage in the rebirth of our club.

Best football I've seen since I was a young buck looking at my Dad in amazement at the Fulwell in '85.

Tbf you said Rooney would do a good job at Birmingham

Mind, I would say, whilst we did play good football, I’m not going to let it be said it was because of him. He can’t have all the credit for it. More he let them express themselves, which is a positive. We never once set up to defend or give players like Clarke or Roberts over onerous tasks going the opposite direction. Some managers would have.

He’ll not turn a shit team into some technical team, like Poyet forced our players to do (then gave up on passing the season after  )
