Thank You And Good Luck, Tony!

I admit I overreacted after the Huddersfield loss, yes he got the tactics wrong but there are far bigger problems at the club than the head coach. His hands were tied and some little muppet with a spreadsheet thinks he knows better than a man with over forty years of experience in the game.

Wish Speakman would just piss off like and take his iPad with him

If we get the next appointment right then we’ll look back on Mowbray as an integral part of our development as a club.

If we really can kick on, he’ll of laid the foundations for that progression

I do think looking to move forward is the right answer and if we stuck with Mogga we’d of been treading water
Good post mate. He brought some experience when we needed it and helped us steady the ship in the division. He achieved exactly what he was brought here to do and was fully aware of the circumstances he'd be working under. The next fella could be a disaster, but moving on from Mowbray was exactly the right thing to do.

Hopefully. As I keep saying, I think he ran out of steam. But the uncertainty causes a few people to piss their pants rather than look at it as an opportunity

Shocking decision to sack him now! and nobody will dissuade me from that opinion!Lets see what cheap no mark we get in as a coach as his replacement shall we!The new coach will have a very hard act to follow given the dross we have as our forward line but good luck to him ..I really fear for our club in the short term but its obvious we are run now by fiscally astute businessmen who will keep our club financially secure!I just think as a fan the footballing side will be uninspiring and we will lose the kids to the throat splitters up the road !

Agreed, he did his job and was a calming influence which is what we needed at the time

An example of the board knowing what we needed and doing it. Hopefully same this time round!

Peter Reid
I mean that’s fair enough, but I used the word favourite manager, which is not necessarily most successful. I enjoyed having Mowbray as the manager of our club.

I think the combination of his success in the time he was here, which given the resources (financial as well as time) I feel was outstanding, and his values appeal to me much more than Peter Reid.

I didn’t always enjoy having Reid as our manager - not when he fell out with players, not when he dropped Kubicki, not when he sold Makin, Summerbee, Johnston and Helmer. Let’s face it, he came across as a berk in Premier passions. I think he let personal grievances get in the way of decision making and he had an over inflated sense of his own value and the club suffered as a result. His legacy was not a great one.

I value honesty and humility as qualities and Mowbray exuded it, so I enjoyed having him as our manager above Reid. I’m not 5 mate, I probably have a different opinion to you.

Agree it's a strange one ain't it, you can tell fan pressure wasn't even taken into account as there was very little appetite for change imho bar a few on here and a few at the match. A few more games like Huddersfield and it might have started to turn mind that was brutal.
Not many managers will lose their jobs based on on pitch goings on & still be so well liked.

Haway man, he refused to change it around and use different tactics, how can you still want him? He is a nice bloke, I like him but when it comes to football it's a results business and he was not getting the team performing how we should be. To be clear, I was one of the ones shouting for him to stay at the end of last season, he did deserve it but has failed to deliver on improvement. I wish him well and all that and hope he finds another job soon, won't take him long if he wants another job somewhere else.
