WMS Thank God it’s them instead of you

You can't help but feel for the true fans, those 4,000 or so die hard supporters who travel to see their club home and away. Fans who have followed the team for 50,60 even more years. That though is all you can do, because I have no sympathy for the actual business and the ownership itself.

I've never been one to romanticise the game, simple fact of the matter is that Bury FC exist for one reason, and one reason only and that is to play football. If they cannot do that through bad ownership then they have no place in the professional structure.

No amount of dewy eyed seniors or former board members handcuffing themselves to the stadium is going to change the fact that the club does not have the resources to continue as a viable business. No amount of begging on TV and saying the likes of Man Utd/City should help out will save the club.

It is clear that Dale is a shitbag of the highest order, and having read his begging statement about fans putting their hands in their pockets to save the club just goes to show this even more.

By midnight, a little bit of football history will die, its regrettable but let's be honest.... Bury FC will die tonight because there are not enough people who care enough about it to keep it alive....

Bolton, Macclesfield and Coventry City be wary... you're next.

They'll make a Phoenix club and be back in league football in the next 10 years. People will still regard them as Bury. The same happened with Rangers.

Bury's population 185.000, average attendance 4.000, if you want your hometown club to survive, get off your arses and go to the game.
Harsh but true, must be immensely difficult though having Liverpool, United and City on your doorstep. Look how many glory hunters are in the North East, places like Bury will crawl with them. Hopefully Bury survive.
