Thai cave boys

No offence personally mate, but this post illustrates what I'm trying to say.

Situations like this are manipulated into some kind of countdown scenario where 'we only have a few minutes to transform this housewife's garden/house/physical appearance'.

During which time the viewers get involved with their opinions and guesswork until eventually everyone uses the same 'buzz phrases' and they all sound like experienced interior designers or whatever.

What happens with tragedies, like this, is that people 'become involved' until they're quoting facts as if they already knew them.

I suppose it's because things are turned into game shows as @Flared Hicks alluded to ...

"This baby gazelle has been seperated from its mother, there are lions encircling it, time is of the essence. Will it survive or caught and torn to pieces."

Call 001 for 'eaten alive'

Call 002 for 'safe home with mum'

Call 003 for 'make friends with a lion cub and go out to play'

Of course there is a countdown, there is a plan and people want to know as much info as possible. What do you want?

To try and help though I have gone and adopted a gazelle, not sure where I am going to put it though.

I'm bawling my eyes out here at the news that - apparently, God willing, everything crossed - they've started to come out.

My God how we all sometimes need the kindness and bravery of others, and a reminder that sometimes they need ours.

Apparently 4 of them to walk out soon.

Another 4 or another 2 making it 4 altogether?

Absolutely Janie.

Heart sunk when I turned the news on and seen it come down the bottom "two boys have..." Then had a huge sigh of relief when it said been rescued.

I've carefully explained, you've decided to ignore most of what I've said for whatever reason .....

.... let's leave it there.

The coach must be in two minds whether to stay in? He may be getting lynched when he comes out.

Over the moon things are turning out the right way. If they all get out what an adventure to talk about - with due respect to the unfortunate lost soul!

Not the case. The parents have thanked him for taking care of their boys.

One of them wearing an England shirt on the BBC pictures.

Imagine being stuck in a cave since before the World Cup started and getting out to the news that England are in the semis. I'd think someone was taking the piss tbh.

FIFA have offered them seats for the final if they're out in time. They could be there to see it Coming Home

That's good. Just this minute I heard on the news that he believed he was going in to a tourist destination, described as a show cave. Perhaps a victim of circumstance and lack of research/information/warnings.

The minute the last person leaves the caves and any stuff taken in has been brought out if possible, the Thai government should blow up the entrance so that it doesn’t become a magnet to the local youth.

At least secure it.

On a side note, the thing ive noticed about the BBC coverage is that the presenter appears, in the main, to be looking for the worst possible angle on this event.

What'll be even more startling is that they will be sat watching as England take it home... either that or France, or Belgium, or Croatia
