I was sure I read before they weren’t starting Testos until after Silverlink had finished but now they reckon it’s starting this month. It’s going to be an almighty fuck on getting anywhere.

For the amount of civils being done at Silverlink they’ve done a cracking job of keeping the traffic moving.

This. No different to before really. Still two lanes open each way.I think they've cracked on well tbh.

They’re also changing the Nissan turn off into a proper roundabout junction rather than the single carriageway it is now.

Because there wasn’t enough disruption on that stretch at the minute.

Silverlink puts 10mins on a trip max. Can't see what all the fuss is about.

I thought the 184 would be straight ower anarl. Dinnar, I've not paid too much attention to it.

Silverlink is a triple deck. A19 straight through under, coast road over the top as current there and roundabout in the middle to change between.

Testo will be a fly over for the A19, roundabout on the deck as currently is for A184 and joining the flyover. The same as the Leam Lane/ A19 junction.

Downhill lane will be the opposite, A19 on the deck as is, round about over the top the same as the A690/A19 junction, so they need to build another bridge over the A19.

They are somehow linking downhill lane to testos, probably going to end up being three lanes each way between them.

My only concern is if they can dual the road between testos as the BMW dealer roundabout, that seems to be a bit of a bottleneck as it is.

I think there is a few months of utility diversions first. Which shouldn’t be too disruptive to start with

I understand they're running a dual carriageway from Fulwell Mill all the way to Testos to help traffic flow - it will mean flattening the Boldons, but that's a fair price to pay

Closer than you think , they were talking about a Boldon bypass years ago .

Noticed they seemed to be setting up the compound today. Not where I was expecting either (the land that was suspiciously dug up then flattened about 4 months ago along the south side of the A19 just after the roundabout)

I mean if there’s a crash on it when it’s just pixel cars, imagine it a rush hour. Look on the left of the roundabout at 2.05mins in. 3 car smash.

First it was the tyne tunnel, then it was the A1 works which snarled up the A19, then it was the Silverlink, next it's going to be Testo's...

What i would give for a roadwork free commute
