Ten Hag…..

Scraped owa the line at home to teams who'll finish in the bottom 6.
Both of their first 2 wins last year were scraping past poor sides.

Still went on to finish 3rd and win a domestic cup in the same season.

I'm not a man united fan, just saying the bloke took the club back a step forward last year and to write him off after not even half a dozen league games is utter nonsense.

it makes ten hag better in that he achieved more than his predescessor..though your point about the others nbeing relatively weak last year is a good one...
Man Utd have a deep structural problem which is they need to spend fortunes on the stadium, and just as it did with arsenal unde wenger, and spurs more recently, that hinders whats available for buying players.
The Glazers spent the money on the players not on the stadium.
But they aren’t doing either, glazers are sucking them dry until some loon shells out 10bn quid for them. I can’t recall a time where a big player was sold and Man U weren’t in the conversation for being potential buyers, now they are buying second rate players…still good no doubt but not that top calibre. Quite enjoyable to watch I gotta say
and when they do get them in on silly contracts, they can’t shift them again, Christ I thought Phil jones had retired for years till he popped up again when they released his ass.

He was never going to be big enough, a club like that you need to be a character too, like fergie. You can't be a bloke I couldn't pick out in a line up and be manager of one of the biggest clubs in the world. Look at the best managers around, all have pretty big personalities, pep, klopp, Carlo etc all fantastic managers but also can put the club on their back.
Surely we can all see by now that it's not just the manager's fault. The whole club is fucked from top to bottom.

Not for the glazers, that behemoth just keeps producing cash. Crazy that the clubs downfall wasn’t that it was in debt but that it was a money making machine allowing the glazers to pretty much have the club buy itself for them

Name one top line player that has went in their prime, not just about money spent its about the quality of player too. Mason mount, 60m do you think he’s top of the line or the best that was out there

yes but the quality of player bit..which I agree completely with you on..isnt the glazers fault..they dont choose the players..they peobably dont know the names of most of the players..
the glazers set the budgte and other people wasted it..

man city hardly ever make a poor signing and also know when to sell..

I maybe would say it’s the glazers fault, they’ve essentially managed down any ambition..are Man U a destination team for the top quality players? I mean once ur in the 200k + bracket per week, does it then come down to where players feel they will win something, besides the stupidly high Saudi wages.
if there’s say 200k on offer at arsenal and 200k at Man U, in the past you could maybe say if folks wanted to get silverwear and play in an exciting team Man U would be the place. As they are now I’m not sure that is the case anymore. So much dead wood hanging about the place I’m surprised there hasn’t been a fire

Matt Busby manages them to the European Cup and the league championship
They then have a succession of managers who achieve nothing.
then they get Alex Ferguson, win 13 league titles, the CL etc
Ferguson leaves and they win nowt for years.

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that it was all about Alex Ferguson as it was about Busby.
Great managers make great teams.
Both Scottish

I still think Ten Hag will get it right, though the recruitment this summer has been garbage in my opinion, Amrabat aside. I think the danish striker will be good long term but for this season they needed more.

What is Phil Jones doing now ? He has been unlucky with injuries but he's utter shit and he must have an amazing agent.

Can see things capitulating at United like, Glazers pissing around with the sale, Antony potentially being suspended, Maguire and Evans getting game time together as a CB pairing and ETH throwing players under the bus in the public eye.

True and on paper it looks like progress, but they have no real style, and get the job done, just about, but scored 54 goals in league last season, less than nufc
