Ten Hag…..

Fair play to Sancho for firing back at him. Seems quick to criticise and drop Sancho yet that showpony Brazilian on the right wing seems to be untouchable.

Sounded like a right helmet after the match in not believing the VAR decision when it's clear as day the striker was offside. People like that who don't accept factual evidence really, really boil my porridge.
I think the rest of the presenters on Sky thought that as well. Keano just glared at him
Football is a in a desperate place if they’d what we are calling offside these days.

As for ETD, he’s struggling but he’s got a very poor hand to play with. Club is in utter turmoil. Whoever is on charge there has to do the best they can with one arm tied behind their back so it’s hard to gauge how good he is.

When they win Ten Hag is a genius, when they get beat its all the Glazers fault.
As long as their fans continue to buy into this he will continue to get away with being bang average.

Matt Busby manages them to the European Cup and the league championship
They then have a succession of managers who achieve nothing.
then they get Alex Ferguson, win 13 league titles, the CL etc
Ferguson leaves and they win nowt for years.

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that it was all about Alex Ferguson as it was about Busby.
Great managers make great teams.

the likes of Neville always pose the question about why Man United are now winning nothing and scratch their heads - mainly because Neville doesn't want to admit that he and the players would have won fuckall without Ferguson.

Who would they get though if they do decide to boot him? Apart from Pep, who could do it? Ange might something from left field, but would take a lot for Levy to let him go - if at all. Simeone? Potter? I just can't see anyone really.

TBF they won cups between Busby and ferguson but not leagues...same as now..

Not seen what all the love in with this fella is all about, have Man U improved immensely since his arrival? And no idea what they were thinking signing mason mount.

Potter would be just as big a failure as he was at Chelsea, maybe a decent coach just not sure he can control the egos

That's the thing marra, at Utd during the 'golden years', no player was above the club or manager. Beckham was a prime example. Hiding his Mohawk from Fergie, then when he found out, made him shave it before a match. He just told him 'shave it' and he did. How many of the current squad would respect eth like that? Footballers egos nowadays are through the roof. Footballers like 09 are very few and far between.

Any manager taking over Utd will have their work cut out for them

Qualifying for the champs league is the bare minimum expected. And I’m not sure winning the league cup is such an achievement for Man U….challenging for the league as a min each year and they are miles away from that and have been for years

ten Haag will be gone soon enough, the whole squad needs an overhaul, and not sure the glazers are ever gonna be up there fighting for the elite players….could u see them signing mason mount in fergies years and thinking that was an upgrade

champs league may be the bear minimum expected..but its something the previous guy didnt achieve..and Ten Hag has achieved it...so he has made an improvement compared to the previous guy..

they wont challenge for the league until they find a david gill like figure to do the transfer bits as Fergie had

Yeh but because the previous fella failed miserably too it doesn’t make ten Haag better, maybe just a touch luckier…Chelsea Liverpool and spurs had shocking seasons last year so that helped massively, Christ even the mags crept into the top 4
im not convinced Man U will do anything of note (Man U scales) until they are sold again

Never looked a good appointment from the start. An excellent run early in the year when rashford was on fire and LFC,CFC + Spurs being dire papered owa the cracks.Still likely to get 3rd or 4th as Chelsea are still shit, the mags out of sorts and Spurs likely to fade.Keeper doesn't look owa clever either.

it makes ten hag better in that he achieved more than his predescessor..though your point about the others nbeing relatively weak last year is a good one...
Man Utd have a deep structural problem which is they need to spend fortunes on the stadium, and just as it did with arsenal unde wenger, and spurs more recently, that hinders whats available for buying players.
The Glazers spent the money on the players not on the stadium.
