Ten games in.

Think ten games into a season is a decent indicator as to how the season may pan out.
What are people's thoughts so fa?
Last night was an ordinary premier league game played by two ordinary premier league sides which for all I can't say I expected us to win I certainly wasn't surprised we did.
I think we'll finish above palace this season so I couldn't quite understand the doom mongers talking of us taking a battering down there.
I thought we'd struggle back in August and saw nothing to change my mind since then.
Only surprises for me is that wickham hasn't kicked but saying that he's playing out of position which doesn't help and the Gus seems to favour Buckley over Johnson. Find the latter baffling to be honest however but I'm sure Poyet has his reasons.

I don't think we have played particularly well so far this season but we still find ourselves comfortable.

I'm hoping that we kick on now and put some consistent performances in.

Think at the start of the season I said something like between 9th and 13th. I can't really see us breaking into the top 10 now but still think we'll finish comfortably.

We are shite but occasionally we click and turn in a decent result. My guess we finish around 14th, hovering slightly above the drop zone, with absolutely nowt to get excited about and very little in terms of finances, coaching, league position etc to suggest we can attract much in the way of name brand players. I think we'll rely on either an academy player coming through or some luck with a diamond in the rough like Phillips was (not saying we'll find anyone who turns out THAT good) to help us step up any higher.
Still not convinced by Gus, some baffling decisions and I reckon there's a lot of on the job training going on there. When we occasionally do well is it down to him or just plain luck?

Last nights win was a massive result after shipping in 10 the previous 2 games. Let's hope confidence has picked up a bit and we get at least a point against Everton.

Could've been a lot worse if we'd lost last night.

At the start of the season I expected us to finish anywhere between 9th and 20th, were currently there and I still think we will finish there. There's absolutely nowt between about a dozen teams. I know the OP likes to prattle on about how shit we are but other teams are in the same boat. Some good players, some shite. Were in good hands with poyet regardless of where we finish in May.

I'm still waiting for us to pass the ball around with any sort of purpose like a Premier League side....a lot of individual parts and a lack of organization...can't remember when the last time we put a whole game together from beginning to end, win or lose!

15th isn't comfortable IMO.

I am disappointed with the style of play, tactics and the scraping of an odd win here and there for which we are expected to clap happily.

Not much improvement from MON's days IMO

Agree with this. Problem is what's the answer as with personnel at his disposal is there really a great deal more that Poyet could do?

Aye comfortable was probably the wrong wording

I still think we can play a lot better and kick on further.

It's what I expected to be honest, we will hover around 13,14,15th place all season.
A decent cup run & beating the mags & staying up is all we aspire to do unfortunately. Turn back the clock 20 years & I would take your arm of for that !

On track for about 40 points. Still got Alvarez and Giac to come back to add something different and maybe (a small maybe) a decent January transfer window will make it a comfortable season.

lol jk

we're doomed
