Teenager computer hacker

Didn't sound like he did much wrong tbh. Certainly didn't do it to make money, highlights just how these big companies are happy to take your cash but not actually earn it buy investing in infrastructure or security.

Kid should have been took on by the Dutch authorities as a cyber worker and put his talent to good use.

It's a bit like someone breaking into your house while you're out, pissing on your sofa and sending photos to their mates for a laugh.

KPM should have offered him a job in their IT department so he could be surrounded by like minded nerds in person. He’d have been a bloody handy lad to have on your side to prevent a business being hacked for example.

A different type of intelligence which sadly schools aren’t equipped to detect.

He will get a job in that field. Poacher turned gamekeeper.

I didn't say he'd done nowt wrong just not much, obviously illegal hence the prison time but the article didn't really go it to much detail of that side. It was the potential for damage they mentioned the most.

Cost one company £3 million quid. Has probably caused damage or opened up holes that have allowed others to across other companies, universities and organisations before that, and who knows how many thousands of hours of time spent having to address that. Was happily mixing around online and sharing ways in with others who would run denial of service attacks or steal data. Am sorry the kid had such serious mental health issues in the rest of his life, but this stuff isn't victimless at all.
