Team vs West Brom

If he plays the same player for 3,4 or 5 games and they don't score or contribute then the fans will be going ballistic calling him clueless blah blah blah. And that he needs to change it. Sometimes a manager can't win if the tools he's been given are blunt

That's happening more and more, as if he doesn't have a clue, being ridiculed after poor results because he's not starting Rusyn, Aouchiche, Ba etc and then he does and guess what....

Hopefully playing against a better footballing side will allow us more space to get our wide players into dangerous positions.

As for the side

Patterson
Hume Seelt Ballard Huggins
Neil Jobe
Roberts Pritchard Clarke
Rusyn

Simply has to be this.

O Nien will start though and Pritchard definitely won't start. O Nien is an absolutely huge problem in our defence and fuck knows what has happened to Ekwah but he doesn't resemble a footballer atm

Rusyn has attitude problems apparently

So what would you do? I would start Rusyn personally, as I’ve said.
I honestly don't have an answer. It's not like there's 1 obvious choice that most fans would agree on.

IMHO I think burstow and hemir should be playing in league 1 at this moment in time I think mayenda looks a very young hungry raw kid who might impact a game as a sub.

Rusyn is the most experienced of that lot and looks the most promising however he's been injured the last 2 games. Maybe TM might have played him otherwise

Exactly. The same posters slating the manager for not playing aoochie etc then when they do play they are poor still slate the manager

O’Nien Seelt Ballard

Hume Jobe Ekwah Huggins

Roberts Mayenda Clarke
Rogue choice but I think we need a back 3/5 tbh as we’re hit on the break far too much, on the attack O’Nien can push to number 6 to support midfield, while Jobe pushes to number 10 to support Mayenda.

Picked Ekwah over Neil purely as I believe he offers slightly more defence and is bigger and stronger.

I really rate this lad, posters slating him
After today are laughable.

At the minute though, Pritch deserves to start.

Not sure you could go in with Neil, Pritch & Adil
What did Pritchard do today to deserve to start the next game? Are you basically forgoing all of our direct free kicks near the opposition's goal and corners just so you can have your favorite player in the team. Because no matter what his failure rate is the management and his team mates do appear to be brave enough to tell him not to be involved in them at all. The minor bits of good link up play he contributed today were no where near what Roberts produced and yet you mention Pritchard above Roberts. I'm sure I'll get" its all about opinions " thrown at me but let's be honest our best football this year has been played without Pritchard in the team.

He looked bright in the first half but gave the ball away in dangerous areas a couple of times before he was hooked.

He looks like a talent but he’s better coming off the bench imo
Runs like Malbranque but the comparison ends there....he was awful. Looks extremely lightweight like an attacking Michut. Time for Rigg in my opinion.

I agree with most of that…. assuming that the full backs play as full backs and support the wingers. And I think also someone has to make way for Onein as DM sitting in front of the back four…I think his passing has come on leaps and bounds in recent times. Part of our frailty on transition is that we set up with 3 attacking midfielders ( we currently have 6/7 who can be put in this category) who are I’ll equipped to do the Evans role.
(As an aside Matete looked like he could do that role pre season….perhaps he still can when fit)

This is interesting but it requires a different mind set. Currently the set up is attack orientated ( yes I know it’s not working ) with a “go out and play “ attitude. It produces some wonderful football but can be undone by the streetwise, organised and physical teams.
The formation promoted here suggests that it is more conservative in outlook with a clean sheet the first priority with more control. We would score less goals but probably generate more points. I am sort of attracted to it.
I don’t think it will happen however as recruitment has gathered so many attacking midfield players that there is immense pressure to accommodate at least 3 of them.

I agree with that as well, we have far more attacking players to ever sacrifice one in the lineup for a defensive player imo, even if I think we should.

The formation I suggested could work well in attack and defence if done well because in attack if 1 CB (probably O’Nien) steps up alongside the CM and 1 CM steps up to support the striker along with the overlapping wing backs we would have up to 6 men in attack. Then in defence with the 3 CB and the wing backs stepping back, then one of the CM dropping between midfield and defence we would have up to 6 men in defence at any 1 time.

But it’s all ifs and buts because I don’t think the formation will be changing.

Rusyn's got to be first choice striker assuming thats where he was bought to play. He looks more like a winger to me. He's the premiere signing, 25yo and should be ready to go.

I see O'Nien is deemed responsible for all our woes as per usual even though he scored against Huddersfield and passes the ball far better than anybody in the team. But aye bring the concrete block, Seelt in and see how it helps us to win matches

This for me other than Rusyn.

Tempted to play Pritch as the furthest forward and have Ekwah / Rigg in.
Ekwah needs time out to sort himself out physically and mentally. He’s just not at his previous level at the moment
If Ba and Burstow start, then Tony can fuck off imo
Burstow should have been left in London yesterday. Another Chelsea never will be we’ve been lumbered with
