Team v Wigan?

Patterson
McLoughlin Sanderson Wright McFadezean
Leadbitter Scowen
Diamond Embleton Neil
Grigg

I’d give Patterson the shout at No1, only keeper at the club that might have a future and senior keepers don’t inspire.

Switch to a back 4 so have to have two fullbacks that can defend, so rules Hume out. Every no pressure hoof forward is a f***ing fine - play in to GK, FBs or CMs for set and reset. Out ball in behind their FB of under pressure with front 4 to use as a trigger to press.

Wright to bitch Sanderson.

Scowens legs around Grant but both have to get on the half turn and threaten to play forward to feet. No f***ing straight drops either, allow FBs to provide width and drop into that space.

Youthful exuberance in Diamond/Embleton/Neil to play off their midfielders shoulders, in between the lines. Close the gaps between in each and look for interplay. Defensively every under hit pass, square pass or heavy touch is a trigger to pressure as a unit - win it or foul, really aggressive.

Grigg to occupy centre backs with little diag runs across and in behindstay between the width of the 6yd box as much as possible.

Move the ball quickly and as high as possible against a low block to move their defensive unit. Don’t give heading practice for their backline, only look cross when wide and goalline side of the 18yd line. Every cross made where we don’t have at least three bodies in the box I’d be dishing out bollockings.

That’d be my order of the day.

Subs: Patterson, Flanaghan, Neil, Embleton, Diamond, Curry, Graham

Hope the new manager or if the other lad if still in charge doesnt play 5 at the back

Never want to see Dobson, Graham or O'Brien play for us again. Would give Curry some minutes too. Only kept Power in my 11 because of his goal

Anyone know how long Wyke & O'9 are out for?
Quite like that but would have Embleton or Neil in for Leadbitter

Yup, and put Scowen deeper and one of those further forward. Scowen isn't and never has been an attacking midfielder. He's known as a player who puts his foot in and presses teams at the clubs he was at before us, he gets involved in the build up to attacks but not actually in the attack. Parkinson saw him pass the ball forward once so decided he was massively attacking and played him as such

Which is probably more than most. Yeah maybe Embleton higher up with Scowen for Leadbitter

Sanderson played 10 games for Cardiff. At right back? Maybe but probably got stuck there to cover injury or whatnot. In his first interview with the club he said on record that he prefers to play centre back.

Mclaughlin has done OK in a back three but in a back two he'd struggle. Why have his performances picked up? Simple, his confidence has grown. He touched on this in an interview at the start if the season when he said that he admitted he'd struggled so far and that it had knocked his confidence and that he was always on edge when he received the ball and hoping not to make a mistake.

Now he looks more confident and comfortable on the ball.
Sanderson played RB or RWB at Cardiff iirc. There's no way on this earth that McLaughlin should play there ahead of him. Its CB or nothing for him. Imo.

Fuck five at the back, it's been f***ing awful ever since we have used it. Stiffles all attacking play by having too many centre halves. We've tried it loads over the years and it's been f***ing terrible every single time
