Team News for saturday

Zenden was on the radio last week. He didn't seem happy at all and it sounds as though he'll be away at the end of the season. It didn't seem as though he'd had a lot of communication with Bruce and has pretty much been left in the dark.

I must admit though, although he's a canny squad player he's not getting any younger so if he were to leave I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. However, we've been playing like shite for months now and any change for me I'd look on positively. I do disagree with players being played out of position though.

I'm sure Zenden will be off, he said when he signed the contract extension he wanted more games and this season he's probably had less if anything. He was very good in excellent results at Spurs and Chelsea but has since found himself as very much a bit part player behind out of form players like Henderson and Elmohamady, and unfit players like Cattermole. After our inexperience was shown up at SJP he still couldn't get a game in the home re-match and after our form has dipped dramatically recently he still isn't used. Baffling management and I can't blame Zenden one bit for being upset.

This would be my starting team.....

GK - Mignolet - Done nothing wrong of late
RB - Onouha - Have really missed him of late
LB - Richardson - Best position for him overlapping down the left
CB - Turner
CB - Mensah
RW - Sessegnon - With Onouha getting forward more than Anton, it will stop teams being able to double up on Sess and i reckon he could beat most full backs in a 1v1
LW - Zenden - Can get the crosses in and Rico overlapping makes up for Zendens lack of pace
CM - Catts - We need his bite and i think we'll see a big performance
CM - Muntari - The lad is slowly getting better, you can see some of the passes he picks out he is oozing quality, needs more time to get fitness up.
CF - Gyan
CF - Welbeck

That's the team i'd go for and pray Brucie does also!

Muntari slowly getting better?! He was appalling on Sunday!!!

I don't think he was any worse than any of our other players on sun. He can keep possession well and would be a much better player if Bruce let the shackles off him and we didn't expect this midfield enforcer, something that he isn't!

 I think Quinn has already bought his ticket back to Milan.

Yep. I can't see us wasting money on him. He seems to be going through the motions and his heart just doesn't seem in it. He was as wet as a paper tissue at City. I was expecting more grit from the lad. He was casually running back when the City players were dashing forward.

He wandered around in a daze the whole length of the time he was on the field. City just brushed past him time and time again. If he is a midfielder, he should be able to tackle.

The most urgency we saw from him was when he ran of the pitch to be subbed.

steed for muntari
richardson for henderson

mignolet
ferdinand
turner
mensah
bardsley
sessegnon
rico
cattermole
steed
gyan
welbeck

most probable line-up atm

Whether or not it is the right decision, Bruce won't drop Hendo.

I'd go for:

Mignolet

Onouha Turner Mensah Richardson

Al-Muhammadi Cattermole Zenden Malbraque

Gyan Welbeck

That's a side with good balance who'll also be able to keep possession, which is what we need to do tomorrow.

My team would be:

Mignolet

Onuoha Turner Mensah Richardson

Sessengon Cattermole Zenden Malbranque

Welbeck Gyan

Time to get back to basics and get some experience in the side.

Subs: Henderson, Muntari, Ferdinand, Colback, Gordon, Noble, Riveros,
