Beggars belief it does ,we deserved to get a man sent off and a pen against us,yet people are still using it as another example of us getting nowt as you say.
Sorry I forgot refs only hate Sunderland and like all other teams we play against FFS
The trouble with this thread is some people are incredibly biased to safc.
Then there is others who wouldn't slag a ref off is they slept with their missus.
Its been hard to get my point through.
Managers don't help this. They change like the wind depending on whether it was their team or not that gets the rub of the green. People like Big Sam.The problem with that mate,is you are to right refs do make mistakes but they are honest mistakes and while you have a point I believe most of there mistakes are understandable in today's fast paced game.
You are also right there is a lot of biased fans on here who change their opinion depending on whether we get the decision or not,so therefore that is not their honest opinion on the instance.

I don't think many, if indeed any are denying there should have been a penalty. What the question is, is would there have been a red card at all, regardless for the moment as to who should have gone.
The answer by the way is No
Said with such belief and certaintyThere's nothing quite as funny as folk particularly football fans with their teams colours specs on when they feel decisions go against them. I tell you what - this story was a talking point in every single tabloid and broadsheet today - we have a population of 60 million people I defy you to find a link to one person outside of a handful of our own fan base that has even raised the issue of it not being a direct goalscoring opportunity. It absolutely was.

“We know that John O’Shea committed a foul, it’s a penalty kick.
“It’s not a denial [of a goalscoring opportunity], because Wes Brown is close by".

See the Keith Hackett link posted aboveSurely for you to be right the defender has to be in front of the attacker if both behind than only keeper to beat,so goal scoring opportunity.

Whereas Riley and the refs are biased in favour of themselves in order to show that standards are risingAye fair enoughIn fairness though Hackett has a bit of an ulterior motive he hates Mike Riley who took his job and feels he was stabbed in the back when Riley came out and said standards had went up since Hackett left his job. Now every week Hackett is saying his piece. Give me one more then
