Tax Return

At what point does everyone think its HMRC will be reachable on the phone without having to wait for hours? (its not about this years tax return).

Also is there any issue with overpaying on your tax return to make the business look more profitable? I know you will lose out on VAT and TAX but if you are willing to take the hit theres no way they'd ever see anything is there? (asking for a friend)

They are shocking at the minute with the phones. Used to be able to get through in less than 5 mins on the agent line. It's up to half an hour, I dread to think what the regular line is like.

I would got with first thing in the morning. Say 8am or sooner if they have the phones turned on.

Can't believe the phones were off from at least 8pm today on the filing day.

Presumably overtime has been cut?

Falsely inflating profits will get your friend into trouble if they rely on those false profits to get credit or anything like that. If Revenue do spot something amiss there is a reasonable chance your friend will be flagged as a money launderer.

Just finished all mine

It's been a rough year. I think the complete disarray of HMRC have caused a lot of the problems. Letter not being delt with, incorrect tax calcs, missing post.

Would love to see everyone get together and bill them for their incompetence. Why should it fall on the clients?
Finished about 10ish
