I doubt that, we could get promotion with no change, it's possible not much could happen in two weeks and we could still be promoted. What occurs within 2 weeks of the actual takeover we will know whether promotion is on or off for this season

Do you really see this team achieving promotion?I doubt that, we could get promotion with no change, it's possible not much could happen in two weeks and we could still be promoted.
I wouldn't put money on it, but it's possible. If I had to pick I think we will finish in the play offs and then there is always a chance.Do you really see this team achieving promotion?
Time will tell.I wouldn't put money on it, but it's possible. If I had to pick I think we will finish in the play offs and then there is always a chance.
It still won't stop the Doyles, as you put it.Good article that. Should be read by all the doyles who insist Donald and methven will still be calling the shots.
Not without a change in coaching.Do you really see this team achieving promotion?
So the worst that can happen is that we spend a ton in L1, get punished by the EFL and can't spend anything in the Championship?
That sounds just as bad tbh.
I really don't know how we could circumvent the wage cap at this stage. People have this false idea that billionaires can grease the wheels in other ways, but I'm not really sure if that's going to cut it with us being right at the limit.
We can't sign a great player, pay him a pittance in wages and keep up the plausible deniability. The only realistic option for someone extremely wealthy would seem to be getting rid of the highest earners and eating their contracts so that we can buy a couple of new players in January.
Can we not sign someone & give a big sign on bonus (pay them up-front). Or alternatively give them 3-5k/pw in L1 with a big bump if we hit Championship.
Might be being naive but they both seem plausible?
Can we not sign a player on loan, pay a decent wedge up front but get the parent club to cover their wage?Signing on fees count towards the cap. £3-5k/week is too much. Bonuses/pay rises contingent on promotion are OK.
What about goalscoring bonuses and clean sheet bonuses.Signing on fees count towards the cap. £3-5k/week is too much. Bonuses/pay rises contingent on promotion are OK.
Really, there's not. The club is being transitioned to (a) new majority shareholder(s). If he/they are happy I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.Agree with you on this, think there are still some big issues to be cleared up.
1/ What happens to the £20.5m our present owners owe back into the club.
2/ Are FPP still to be involved, if not what happens with there €12m loan to the club.
3/ what is new guy paying for his reported 60% shareholding.
All very important to know imo.
If JS is so bothered about about buying us why doesn’t he just buy all the shares on his own, why include someone when you can do yourself.Lots of guesswork based on rumours in that ALS article so not really much better than us on here, but I largely agree with him on Sartori, like we said on Friday, KLD doesn't have the feel of the driver in this, I'd expect the final cap table to be at least even between Sartori and him, if not more weighted towards JS.

How would they factor that in as nobody can predict those at start of contract ?
Should be able to make room for that. But harsh like! That is allowed, but you also need room in the 22 man squad if they're over 21.
All bonuses count, other than those contingent on cup progression or promotion. Clubs are required to submit regular returns of actual spend, and monitored accordingly.

Norwich who have a very very successful academy do it very differently. They play 4 4 2 all the way up to U23s. All because attacking players fetch a premium and if you play two up top in youth football you're more likely to produce a striker with good sell on value whilst still potentially producing one to keep. Its their 4th year of doing it now and they have 1 in their first team squad. Going with a philosophy from top to bottom is a wonderful idea but whilst knocking around the lower echlons of the football league we need to cut pur cloth accordingly.
he/She/tSome people clearly do, one has been evidenced on here, I believe.
Nice of you to admit you were wrong.....
yea well done ... I meant like I can't imagine having that amount of money ...9 thousand 500 million dollars.
