Takeover News/Rumours

That would be ok if it hadn’t come after week upon week of scorn that anything was happening at all. When you’ve called it wrong, at least have the guts to admit it instead of smokescreening yet more negativity.
ATM all we know is the guardian report and the times which has a slightly different view (even if the reporter is a mag). We have no idea currently how long talks have actually been ongoing, or if things can still fall through ala FPP or Campbell. I think a lot of people concerns is more the fact the three owners still have a sizeable chunk in the club despite saying they would sell up. They have proven very hard for people to trust, so even this deal will have skepticism and a wondering around what the finer details may be.

No idea on the first point, although there are rumours of further consortium members who are anonymous so far. So far as the loan is concerned, it will sit on Madrox's books until it's repaid, although any fans' concerns about the ability for it to be paid should be eased (to put it mildly).
ok

I'm sorry I didn't realise you wanted me to make a statement. A lot of my posts have been tongue in cheek but I admit 100% I absolutely thought it was the club playing the fans. It always seemed to get mentioned more when unrest began to bubble again. You'll have to forgive me if I dont trust the current incumbents, they do have form for telling porkies. No question I was wrong about that. I've always said that I trust Prehab wouldnt make stuff up and that kept me hopeful, likewise deodrant2 who clearly knows what he's talking about. The only thing I've ever been adamant about is that its not FPP, which it isnt.

Fair play mate. Let’s see if other fellow scorn merchants follow your honest nature.

I’ve no problems with Sartori mesel. As I’ve said a couple of times in the past I think he was basically a sleeping partner. The decisions and mistakes I believe were made by the HangerOn Brothers as I’m now gonna call them. I think Juan just likes a day out away from his other businesses and political life. Which is how I always viewed ES anarl tbh.
Hopefully the new regime will employ people who know what they’re doing and will thus be able to get on with their lives of luxury without having to get involved in the nuts n bolts and just turn up when they fancy a bit of football themed fun. Which I’ve since been told was ES plan all along. Shame he nivver appointed anyone who knew what they were doing.

I think Juan and Kyril (particularly) are a bit more clued up on who's capable than Ellis ever was.

Happy if this is true! are you speculating or do you know this as fact?...........Charlie only had 5% and are you saying his only influence was changing the music?

speculating, but it makes sense to retain some share. should the new owners succeed there's no telling what those shares will be worth in 5+ years time.

Why would a Newcastle supporting journo want to put a negative spin on this takeover if it's as real as what the Guardian seems to be saying?

He is just leaving himself open for ridicule when it goes through?

More likely than all this "he's a mag" stuff - which is childish and not how journalists behave - is that he's getting his info from one of the other interested parties. So he's reporting what he's being told, but its coming with pre-spun information.
They have to formally permit the deal under the terms of the loan. Given this increases their security exponentially, that should take about 5 minutes. Hardy is just aware of the terms of the loan, and knows it's a hoop that has to be jumped through. The only reason they'd turn it down would be if they were making a counteroffer, and there's no evidence of that.

Hardy is clearly getting pre-spun information imo. Wonder if FPP were interested at one point this autumn - or at least one member of them was?

Good post mate

look at short, gave up and let us slide into league 1 yet fans were shaking his hand and getting pictures with him outside Wembley at the check a trade final
Short put more of his own money into safc than anybody in history of our club and probably more than the whole history of our club put together .......... He failed miserably but please don't put him in the same cage as don and charlie....I doubt if charlie spent a penny other than buying the odd round in the Tavern....shorty failed and he should have sold us when we were in the prem but he wanted to be a success whilst the dumbo twins just wanted to make a quick buck and would say and do anything to that end! I would shake shorts hand no problem (tried and failed) i wont shake dons or charlies hand without keeping an eye on my 40 year old timex.
