I really wish we'd stop worrying about kids who have opted to leave league one to play for Manchester United and Arsenal. I really don't get it. I've supported this club my whole life, would I have stayed at Sunderland's academy if United or Arsenal wanted me? No chance!

People at this stage are just using this as a petty excuse to have a pop at the owners.

No reason why there should be distractions, put a team in place to concentrate on the maintenance of the stadium while fans cant get in and get it up to date and leave the bigger players to concentrate on the footballing side of things to ensure we make steps forward and ultimately to promotion.. we then go up with the best of everything.. the right structure in footballing terms, and a stadium that's been brought up to date for the fans.. Two things that ultimately we can all be proud of before we storm the championship and get back into the Premier league.
Agreed. Basic maintenance and customer service should be a given. I just don’t want that to be a significant part of any fan dialogue tbh. It wastes what little engagement time we get.

You’ve only got to listen to the early Donald podcasts to realise how much it takes attention away. So much time talking about inconsequential shite like whether we’ll have local microbreweries selling out of the concessions. Ultimately the football is 95% of the total experience. The amount of time and energy that is wasted on the icing on the cake is barmy to me. I’ll gladly put up with the SoL being tatty and shite beer and queues at half time if I can watch an excellent football team smash it’s way to the top half of the PL.

The two can quite easily be done separately, the problem was SD wanted to be involved in everything. Surely part of the point of different departments is they can deal with these issues.

Fuck off lad.

We would have to pay his contract up, if we did that, could we do it to another couple of piles of shit we currently pay, and buy one decent player?

Bear in mind that only £1700 of these players' weekly pay counts towards the cap. Any new players coming in will have to have all their pay fit into the cap. It really doesn't matter if we suddenly have the cash to pay up contracts and pay big fees if we can only offer any incoming a player £2k/wk or so.

Then just renews with Molson Coors for 5 years who everyone to a man says produces the shittest stadium beer known to man. This is after Donald claimed this would be one of the easiest things to sort out. Blokes been all fart and nee shite from day 1. Actually I’ll renege that statement. He’s been all shite. A big fat steaming turd from day one. He talks shite. He’s been shite. He’ll continue to be shite as long as his festering stench of shite remains in any capacity whatsoever.

We aren't getting access to blackrock, most of the assets will be institutional investors.
No doubt he will have some good contacts mind, although not sure how much it's likely to help us.
This assumption that because our owners have money, that we as a club are suddenly wealthy. They don't just transfer their bank balances into our account! Sartori has money and has been here a while but the club have nothing.

No they aren't. The owners made the decision to sell these players and even hawked them about if rumours are believed.
We can reject any approaches, not saying that's the right thing to do but we can.

I didn’t say we were, it’s all about the network and connections. My point is that this family are ridiculously well connected and that brings with it all kinds of possibilities for the future IMO

I was wondering this as well. If the 60-20-15-5% numbers are correct I thought you could buy out all the shares in a company once you had 79% control and the other 21% could do naff all about it.

Could they even do anything about it even if it wasn't as long as they were bought for market value?

My knowledge is minimal to say the least bit I'm sure there is a number whereby it can trigger you being able to buy out everyone else. Short did it to our fans who had bought shares a few years ago.

I am fairly sure it is normally 90% unless any other agreement is in place, Short didn't do it. Quinn/Drumaville did.

Agreed. A competent football club should do both. My issue is as much with the fanbase tbh. A shite team with great beer does nothing for me. It’s a big worry for me ahead of potentially rich new owners. The fans will start asking about beer, music, seats, f***ing monorails. It makes fuck all difference to our ability to win football matches. I want to know how they’re gonna get us up the leagues.

By the sounds of things the owners haven't even put up a fight and have just allowed any and all approaches. Whether they would stay or not is a different matter but if they're hearing the club has just accepted approaches without speaking to them then it's pretty obvious they aren't wanted. The club should be doing its absolute utmost to hang onto these lads, not flogging them because they don't intend being here long enough to benefit if they stay. It isn't a petty excuse to criticise them, it's literally one of the things people are most pissed off about, it's a major area of the club that we should be benefiting from and are instead simply funding something that will never produce whilst these owners are in charge.

Yes GG. Fully correct.

For someone who has been involved inside the club, it's stunning how wide of the mark you are with this mind.

I remember The Times writing stuff about our glorious leaders which turned out to be true and everyone slaughtered the Tory southern paper.
Let’s see what happen’s as I don’t believe a 22 year old kid is buying 60% of club for over £20m.

Who says it's £20m? That would be the price for 60% of Sunderland bought from Madrox. The transaction involves Madrox shares. At July 2019, Donald's personal cost (ie money owed to him by Madrox) was £11m. That's his real breakeven point. It look like he's selling around 80% of his stake in Madrox (59% of the 74% he currently owns). The breakeven point for that is around £8m, and is likely to be closer to the amount of money changing hands now.
