Nope. Because the cash they scraped together from the sale of very promising children was spent on the likes of Jack Baldwin, De Bock, Lafferty and a host of other losers who were never gonna get us up. Every single football decision from them was wrong. I don’t care about their intentions - although frankly given their focus on solely the short term at the expense of the future of Safc they’re very much questionable. I care about their competence. Frankly they’re atrocious, dumb owners who’ve set us back years. League one is a piece of piss - and yet every year we’ve gone backwards. Fuck em.

You just need to look at Charlton to see what a bit of competence and ambition gets you. They couldn’t put a side out at the start of the season. They were in turmoil in fact. New owners have come in and Bowyers managed to put a side together in no time at all that look streets ahead of us. We’ve had 3 seasons to do it and have went backwards.

@prehab26 Aside from the footballing side of things, is there plans to sort the off field stuff.. like tarting up the stadium, fixing the sound system, changing the horrific package we got for drinks/food in the concourse.. the whole fan day experience.. while fans cant get in, this would be the perfect time to get the decorators in etc ready for when we are allowed back.
While I think this stuff is important in the fullness of time, one of the bigger mistakes of the Donald regime was pissfarting around with this stuff (seats, music etc) while we needed all efforts concentrating on the pitch. We don’t need any distractions from the football side right now. Any fan pressure we exert should be about football alone imo.

Amazing - and galling .

The football side is obviously the priority, but surely they can do both? The SOL desperately needs a bit of thought as the match day experience is not great.

We'll have to see on that one.

Alternatively, would you revise your view if none of them do?
We will.

Tbh no I wouldn't. Its completely irrelevant in many respects what happens in the future with these kids. It was undeniably the wrong thing to do. It defeated the whole point in having an academy. You have to try and keep the kids to an age where they are mature enough to get real value.

Selling any young prospect whose value could multiply 100+ times will always be the wrong thing to do. We made it far, far too easy for these clubs to get our youngsters. In my view it was unacceptable.

No reason why there should be distractions, put a team in place to concentrate on the maintenance of the stadium while fans cant get in and get it up to date and leave the bigger players to concentrate on the footballing side of things to ensure we make steps forward and ultimately to promotion.. we then go up with the best of everything.. the right structure in footballing terms, and a stadium that's been brought up to date for the fans.. Two things that ultimately we can all be proud of before we storm the championship and get back into the Premier league.

Even if none of them make it in the premier league, thats two levels above where we are. We could have given them a path to first team football in league one and they either; dont make the grade at all, become solid EFL players who we can keep and improve us for free like Hume, Gooch etc or they do outgrow us and we sell them for 10 time for what these shysters gave them away for. Its completely indefensible.

You’ve only got to listen to the early Donald podcasts to realise how much it takes attention away. So much time talking about inconsequential shite like whether we’ll have local microbreweries selling out of the concessions. Ultimately the football is 95% of the total experience. The amount of time and energy that is wasted on the icing on the cake is barmy to me. I’ll gladly put up with the SoL being tatty and shite beer and queues at half time if I can watch an excellent football team smash it’s way to the top half of the PL.

funny how no-one thinks other teams could do exactly the same, forecasting owt on the back of form since christmas is a wee bit weird mind

It's because no more than two clubs have EVER averaged 2 points a game over a season. 3rd place has never been close to it and they won't this season. If we average 2 a game we will go up
