Interesting, Abu Dhabi sovereign fund are linked to the dreyfus’s via a 45 percent stake in their agricultural business.

the conspiracy theorist in me thinks they could have asked Louis to take us on as part of the deal on behalf of them:lol:

this Abu Dhabi deal was concluded recently I think and was the first time the family took on external partners I think

He is very young, but he has been involved in football all his life, and has more top-level footballing experience than Short or Donald had. It seems pretty clear from his social media pages that he's well connected, at least in France.

It's not great that it's not a full takeover, but Donald has been angling for that from day one. With that, I think we need to wait and see what the deal looks like. I was expecting a local based takeover, and this does feel like a huge risk, but I just want us to show some ambition. There's no doubt this is ambitious.

I hope you're right mate. I'm not convinced that he has "top level footballing experience" because his dad owned a club and then his mam carried it on until he was 18. I doubt he was behind the scenes in the business deals.

I haven't seen his social media, so hopefully he's connected in the sense that people want to work with him and not just a "this is the son of the owner" kind of way.

Hopefully he brings the right people in. To me though, him and Sartori are billionaires who I'd expect to be largely absent. He's allowed the current owner and his sidekick to keep 20% of the club. I expect Donald and Methven to be running things.

Went to bed with a hard on

Woke up with one.

Must have been busting for a piss :-)

SD and salmon best not be running things. Stay away and just luckily cream off your percentage ya twats.

Bring some football people in but not those two ffs.

Appears to love football too, that may be the key factor. He will presumably want us to be good and will have contacts at least that know what good looks like.
Obviously hope you are right in which case onward and upward. Like others my reservation is that I had hoped Donald and Methven would finslly get out of our club.

I've somehow managed to miss todays developments until now.

Im intrigued but struggling to get excited over this. A 22 year old rich kid doesn't fill me with confidence as someone who can run a football club and we know the current bunch can't do it.

This kid and Sartori could have easily afforded to buy out Donald and Methven, but the fact that they haven't, suggests they're still going to be influential. I can live with Donald being a minority shareholder but Methven coming back to be an active part in the club is a red line for me.
That’s assuming it’s just these two. I’m reserving judgement until all the details are confirmed but these four owning and running the club would be worrying. Sartori has proven himself clueless in previous interviews and the 22 year old lads parents might have done well for themselves but he’s not proven himself at anything yet. He was a kid when his parents owned Marseilles so people saying he has top flight experience are way off the mark.

People scoffing at the idea that they’d run it day to day but that’s more or less what Donald and Charlie did. Hopefully they’ll appoint an experienced footballing structure at the top. That’s far more important than their wealth.

Definitely seems a football fan or at least a Marseille/France fan, but then so are the current owners. I am sure he will want us to be good as well.

Yeah his mother is selling 40% of the family business to an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund. If anything I think we can gather the serious wealth of people we are getting involved with. Exciting times.

His family experience is somewhat different to Eastleigh in football terms. No guarantees but he should have plenty of contacts that know good at elite rather than Eastleigh level and money to invest in proper structure.

If he has an ounce of common sense those two will be running nothing .
