Takeover News/Rumours

Everyone needs to calm down. Donald will still be our owner this time next year and we’ll still be a mid table League One club.
Don't be daft. If Donald is still the SAFC owner this time next year there's a chance that there won't be a SAFC to support, and we are not a mid table league 1 team, we were only 8th because of being stitched up at the end of last season, our run in at the end of last season should of seen us comfortably in the playoffs.

With a team challenging the top 6 we would. We comfortably had full houses with a decent side who never made the top 6.
We wouldn't. We might sometimes get that but doubt it'd be consistent. City don't and they've had it on a plate. We'd get much better than we do now but we're a couple of generations of being consistently top 4 away from 50k plus crowds every week imo

I'd rather the Academy, scouting, sport science and all other essential support structures be invested in. We're not going anywhere without sound foundations

My reply wasn't an either / or for infrastructure investment, that is essential, I was merely proposing "promotion to the championship" happens before adding tens of thousands more unneeded seats in a stadium.
Anyone remembering that second season in the Premier league under Reid will remember the funding of the roof coming off to extend the ground - rather than strengthening the team flying in the top six - as a mistake.

There is a poster who is adamant that the takeover is close but that he only knows that it is not Furhman or Storey. Someone else has vouched for him and I believe @Hawyatt Earp has agreed?

Whether that poster is legit is another question. He says it's very very close though, so fingers crossed.

Aye that'll make a nice change from doing the same to get away from the curent team after 20 minutes
We were reet at the back of the Roker for Lawrite MacsMerthanme first game. People were trying to get out just before half time. Disgust at SAFC is not a recent phenomeno. It was happening all that season and the nest as the penny dropped with people. Took a long time to get to the bloke that mattered though.
Twas his first sacking though. I’d imagine the trigger finger gets quicker the more it’s used.

We'd get all the fair weather supporters that switched to the Mags under Keegan back plus the young uns and the tourists. Stop being pessimistic.

IIRC The pool wasn't there when they extended the North Stand.

but the club knew it would be. Had to extend in that shape (losing a few rows at the back) to comply with planning which from what I read would have been more difficult if the pool was built first

What was the reason that they couldn't have moved the pool back 50ft ? There was plenty of room.
