Oooooh. When my nephew used to give me his old FM discs I’d play in the Uruguayan league. The set ups a bit weird ower there or was.
Dreyfuss family have a small slice of Marseilles still and Standard Liege anarl I believe.

I wasn't aware of that. The South America to Belgium route is a handy way of getting an EU citizenship quickly for players who otherwise might not get a work permit. This is probably irrelevant post Brexit mind but it's interesting nevertheless.

didn't satori say when he first came in he wanted to link up with a Uruguayan club to pass on their good kids ? or am I imagining that ?
maybe the dumpy one and the posh one weren't happy about putting their hands in their pockets to fund it (no shock there)
that's probably why Juan has gone out and got his own investors to be able to properly carry out the plan he had
just a thought

Very good point and i was thinking the same myself. Maybe Sartori's vision was to do similar to City Group and RedBull but the gonk and salmon pants thought that overseas meant Northern Ireland.

Thats not how it was put across at the time but maybe. No idea how that works in a post Brexit world can’t see many of them getting work permits.

Short absolutely failed here and put us in this position but it was never through selfishness or malicious intent. He wrote off hundreds of millions when he could have left us to rot and go into administration like other owners have. He genuinely wanted to do well here and has an affinity to the club and its fans. He appointed the wrong people to trust several times over and ultimately his last bad appointment was Donald and Methven as the custodians he handed the club over to.

Instead of having an owner who wanted the best for the club and failed, we've got an ownership who want the best for themselves and are failing. Every decision they make is whats best for them and not the club. Parachute payments, academy players, fans and season tickets, everything is geared towards them putting in as little as possible so that when they do sell they make a profit. They then have the gall to slate sunderland fans for abusing them, make up stories of kidnap, refer to it as the "Sunderland disease", proclaim we're all "unbelievably uneducated in business" etc. They hate us and are openly ridiculing us yet we still have people defending them. They're a bunch of utter arseholes.

Spot on, and very good post.

It infuriates me that they still have the nerve to hang onto a part of the club.

This thread makes me chuckle, there’s nothing concrete from anywhere other than a piece in The Guardian most probably written by CM and we are the next Man City.

I sincerely hope these idiots clear off altogether some time soon, but include Sartori in that as he has done nothing in 2 years, absolutely nothing.

A piece in L'Equipe and a piece in the Telegraph too.

Sartori was not and is not owner.

The fact he wants to be , along with Kyril , tells me he's been a guarantor to a failure and wants change.

He’s been to about 3 games in 2 years which tells you his level of interest and if he is that bothered why doesn’t he become the owner on his own, he’s got plenty.
Agree he’s not as culpable as the other 2 fools, but needs to clear off imo anyway all the same.

He was a bit busy but if reports true then it's strange a man of little or no interest wishes to buy it .

I personally have never abused him like the other two. Just summit always niggled away in my bonce about him .

But I could be wrong. Just have to see.
