Interesting, Abu Dhabi sovereign fund are linked to the dreyfus’s via a 45 percent stake in their agricultural business.

the conspiracy theorist in me thinks they could have asked Louis to take us on as part of the deal on behalf of them:lol:

Like lemmings off the Tyne Bridge, it would be hilarious
If he has an ounce of common sense those two will be running nothing .

Look at some of the names associated with those team too. I'm sure Messrs. Dugarry, Gallas, Barthez, Drogba and Pires wouldn't mind picking up the phone and helping their old Chairman's son with a few tips or player recommendations. I do think it's remarkably brave to get involved in a club like this at his age, but you can be assured he'll be very well advised and supported.
You're not advising him though are you?

His family experience is somewhat different to Eastleigh in football terms. No guarantees but he should have plenty of contacts that know good at elite rather than Eastleigh level and money to invest in proper structure.
No idea what contacts he has or what bearing his family owning Marseille largely when he was a kid will have. Maybe it taught him a bit, maybe not.
We actually don't have a clue how much money he has, clearly from a very wealthy family and there is talk of a 2bn trust fund. Certainly on the face of it appears that this is an enthusiastic rich lad who is going to want to move us forward. I am slightly uneasy that we still have all the current owners hanging around and we know virtually nothing about the new one.

I hope you're right mate. I'm not convinced that he has "top level footballing experience" because his dad owned a club and then his mam carried it on until he was 18. I doubt he was behind the scenes in the business deals.

I haven't seen his social media, so hopefully he's connected in the sense that people want to work with him and not just a "this is the son of the owner" kind of way.

Hopefully he brings the right people in. To me though, him and Sartori are billionaires who I'd expect to be largely absent. He's allowed the current owner and his sidekick to keep 20% of the club. I expect Donald and Methven to be running things.

If you have a look on Google, there's French reports of him actively being involved in transfers and speaking to agents. I'm sure he wasn't sitting in on every deal, but he does carry more knowhow of what a well-run club looks like than our previous owners.

The other stuff is a wait and see. I personally don't think Donald and Methven will be running things. Donald isn't really running things now. I think they're both pretty much finished with us and are looking to make the most money they can now.

A lot of people see him as an absentee owner, but from what I've seen and read, he seemed like he was quite a big presence at Marseille. I don't think he'll be running things day-to-day, but I expect him to be a bit more hands-on than people think.

It's just my opinion which can only be proven or disproven in time. We can disagree on that but I think we can agree that we both hope this is a momentous day in our history. Hopefully it brings a little more unity and positivity.

How is it a “momentous day” when all thats happened is that there’s been a newspaper report or two. Once he or they are holding SAFC scarves above their heads it can be a momentous day. And then once Donald and Methven are gone for good it will one of the most momentous days in the clubs history. When we’ve finally managed to flush the turd.

Sounds like you've read more than me mate so I really hope you're right. I'll be cautious until I see it play out though, because I can't understand why he would keep the other 2 on board when he could have bought them out.

I share those concerns but, for now, happy that a young lad with energy, enthusiasm and presumably ambition might be around to drive us forward. He’s not likely to be stuck in his ways or happy to accept mediocrity.

He was 18 when they sold Marseilles right? Surely he wasn’t doing those things as a child?

With a bit of luck he will suss hangers on like you out pretty sharpish and send you on your way.

Seems strange, from what I can see they sold the club when he was 18. How involved could he have been really, plus they finished 13th in 2015/16 the year before they sold, which is pretty terrible for them.
