That's a hell of an allegation! Why do you think City got shot of him
Mines having potential buyers at the very first home game....I cannot stand SD and want him out of the club ASAP. However, i put the blame for not getting promoted in the first season firmly on ross. He gave him good money at this level and he blew it. Whether he should have appointed ross in the first place is a different matter, but you could see his thinking appointing an up and coming manager who could grow with the club. Ross comes across quite well and projects a good image. I could see him interviewing well. My problem with SD is his behaviour from the second season til now.
It was fundamentally awful football understanding. He prioritised promotion above all else, but ultimately made an awful prescription of how to achieve it. Ross was much less than his billed ability - far more limited in his approach - but he was hamstrung by a group of amateurs who were playing at football club ownership, and who placed their faith in incompetent cronies. It wasn't just his choice of manager that caused the failure, but also his choice of structure and people in support. My position is simple. In my company, If we hire someone to a vital role and they don't work out, or the company doesn't achieve it's potential because of that employee, the failure is ultimately on me as the owner who made the judgement. No ifs, no buts, I get the plaudits for our achievements, I also must take responsibility when we fail. The employee's failure is always more on me than them, because it is my job to ensure that does not happen.
Donald underestimated the urgency and challenge to get out of League One. He could have aimed higher, and the outcome may have been different. His priority was affordability over quality and he made a poor judgement. He got that wrong, the fault is with him.
I’m more on board with that than not tbh. In his very slight defence under him we had our longest run in the top flight since our very first.Though I’d imagine a barrister would be inwardly cringing having to hoy that in then say “the defence rests it’s case mlord“Agree, which is why the owner who took us from the PL to the 3rd Division is the worst owner in our history IMO.
What about the rest of the dross they brought in?
Edit: I'm not sure if it's quoted but I'm fairly sure Maguire and Wyke must be signings by the owners, CM and SD raved about Maguire.

I'm not convinced many of the signings were Ross's, I have zero proof to it either, just a thought. His time was up by that Lincoln game, I've seen people label him as an absolute failure which is just ridiculous given the circumstances around the job when he took over.
I find it incredible that people get in parkinsons back but give ross an easy ride. You contrast the quality of player, the money available and the all round feeling around the club. Parkinson got a far worse deal and is a far superior manager. Nit perfect by any means but i think he would've got us up first attempt with that squad.
Despite me wishing he wasn't our Manager now, if we had recruited Parkinson instead of Ross back then, we would have pissed the league.Jack Ross should never have been appointed in what was one of the most important seasons in our history. He had zero knowledge of English football, his contacts would have been minimal and had never managed in any kind of pressure environment. He also didnt know the other teams, the players, how they set up and surrounded himself with his mates from Scotland.
He was clearly a good guy, the players seemed to like him but he developed no identity or pattern of play. It was going from bad to worse and I honestly think we would have fallen out of play offs with him in charge. The buck starts with the owner for appointing him but Ross had a squad that should easily have finished in top 2. There was more than enough quality. McLaughlin, o9, oviedo, mcgeady, Leadbitter, honeyman, morgan, maguire, cattermole, maja, grigg, power. The rest of squad were decent too. Enough to get promoted
At the end of the day the manager picks the team, decides the formation and the tactics and that either wins or loses matches. Are you suggesting that if the buck stops with the owner then clubs should just do away with managers altogether and have the owner responsible for team selections and tactics?
Cheapest option. When Ross came he openly admitted he didn't know the english market. Despite knowing this Donald still went for him, knowing we needed to sign almost a full squad, and put tweedle dumb and tweedle dee in charge of transfers.
Absolutely bewildering decison.
Cheapest option.
Just like “we don’t have to get rid of the high wage earners” but eventually they’ve all gone.
Claims of being self sufficient but loaning £9m off FPP.
Etc etc etc etc..
Ok Bob, you keep on pretending you know people in the real worldYou really are a sad person.
not 100% sure on its timing, but I believe there were a number of rumours (dont know how credible they were) that AJ liked the nightclub scene a bit too much. That's a hell of an allegation!

Yeah, i knew of all that. This lad's suggesting something more sinister.not 100% sure on its timing, but I believe there were a number of rumours (dont know how credible they were) that AJ liked the nightclub scene a bit too much.
never heard accusations of any other sort.
Don't need any balls to call anything, I have got things wrong like when we were relegated 2years in a row. Also got plenty of things right. But will just let you think you're right. As for precious bairns just read your own post!!! Mr AngryOh do fuck off manSome right precious bairns on here these days. Look at my response again.
As you clearly don’t enjoy playing with any humour, I’ll lower myself to your level on this one.
Maybe have the balls to admit you tend to call most things wrong. You’ve been on the wrong side of history with your comments pretty much since you arrived on here. Remarkable really. We all call things wrong, I do all the time. However have you ever called anything right? You always defend the indefensible and then just dig in. Maybe have a think one day as to why you’re “always” hugely in the minority on pretty much everything. Your ego will likely just assume it’s because we don’t see the things you do...
Anyway crack on
I agree that the Maja situation wasn't handled very well but he wasn't exactly setting the championship on fire the season before. There were quite a number of fans who were critical of having Maja and Asoro as the strikers prior to the window shutting.
The problem arose when he started banging them in. Imho thats when his agent started touting him and by the time negotiations began his head had already been turned and he was never going to stay.
