i would not be surprised in the slightest of Short came back as an investor alongside some very solid football people. Yeah he fucked it up, but for people to knock a guy who invested hundreds of millions of pounds in our club and wrote a shit load more off to ensure our survival really shows that we have some very dumb fickle fans. Someone with his kind of money with unfinished business who has had time to review his mistakes is always going to be interested in coming back in and making a success of something. That's ego. Also, the situation this time is very different from when he bought the club originally. All of the facilities are in place but in terms of everything else its a blank sheet of paper and an opportunity to take an altogether different approach based around long term youth recruitment.

There’s more chance of Bob Murray coming back with Lawrie Mac as manager.

Have you got any idea how much money short lost on us last time around? Literally hundreds of millions of pounds.

He finally cut his losses and escaped and after 2 years you think he’ll be chomping at the bit to come back? 😂😂😂😂

 We made about £10m profit even with the grigg transfer but your mates took the parachute payments out of the club to pay off their debt to short.
Sorry mate I understood we made 5.2 million but if you say it was 10 million profit then I bow to your knowledge.

I honestly think it's less of a problem for a club than it was for England. The media coverage of the England job has always been ridiculously intense, think back to Taylor, Hoddle, Erikson etc there's always a scandal and the FA have a moral obligation to best represent the nation.

As a club you can just build an us against them mentality around the gaffer if the media don't like them. Nationally we either get no press or bad press anyway. So long as he isn't up to own dodgy with regard to finances I think we'd be ok in terms of that.

I don't want him back here particularly as a lot of this mess can be put down to the way he went on over the England job but I suppose beggars can't be choosers and I do think he'd put us on a better path.
Di Canio springs to mind. At west ham he was a treasure, came to sunderland and he was a reborn whatever that suddenly attracted national press and tv

I don't think he invested hundreds of millions and then wrote a shit load off. He loaned us money, wracked it up as debt then wrote it off. I'm not saying he didn't lose a shit load but don't think it was 'hundreds of millions plus a shitload'. Don't forget he had probably not far off a billion pounds worth of Premier League money to play with in his time here.

Very true. Yet he still fucked it all up.

I'm as eager for new owners as anyone but he made one big mistake spending our only money on grigg against advice - he has made it uphill for any manager since then as we have no money - current management doi g wonders considering.

Donald inherited a newly relegated league one club with a squad of championship and premier league players and turned it into a proper league one club quick sharp.

Worst owner in our history by a country mile, has failed in everything he touched from day one.
He inherited a side of serial losers who had been fighting relegation every season for years
