That would be the ideal. I just have little faith in anyone involved with us to identify the next Dan Ashworth or anything approaching an innovative vision. I guess that depends who next has control of the club though.Anyone get primo McMenemy vibes off the marwood suggestion? I dunno, it could well be a cushy retirement number. I’d rather we got ones on their way up rather than in their twilight. Would prefer to try to parallel Brighton when they went and got Dan Ashworth. Someone with more road left in their career - with fresh ideas and an innovative outlook. I’m sick of watching us recruit players who used to be famous that the club hope have enough juice left to be relevant. Concerns me that the same thinking will be present when we set up a structure for football operations.
Edit: Of course, anything is an improvement on complete dopes like Donald, Hill and Methven, mind.
