T20 Lancs V Durham

Lancs currently 73/0 off five overs  This with their best T20 batsman on international duty.

He has picked Keaton Jennings as a bowler (?!) who is currently going for 14 an over. Richardson has also been picked to bat in the lower order (?) whilst Pringle is dropped. Onions travelled but wasnt selected. All very bizzare!

Why is Borthwick suddenly opening the batting in T20?? He was down as batting number 10 or 11 the other week.
Stoneman is clutching at straws looking for ANYTHING that may possibly work, such is the fact the team are failing in nearly all areas of limited overs cricket under his captaincy.

Picked a completely wrong team tonight, at least 1 bowler short meaning lads who were going for 10 an over had to keep bowling.

Stoneman batting at 6 is a tad strange as well. Definitely a bowler short

Edit: making such a dreadful hash of this run chase.

Phil Mustard has had his very own Chanderpaul V Hants moment here:eek:

Dreadful. That just sums up Durhams limited overs season.

Wrong team.
Poor bowling changes.
Confused batting lineup.
Failing miserably to keep close to a good run rate.
Defeat.

One more game to go and this shite is over for another year.

Bunny probably rested for the 50 over stuff seeing how this was a meaningless game for us.

I don't know why McLeod or even Hastings haven't been given a go at opening in the T20.

I wonder how many other sides in T20 would have their openers in the championship side coming in at 8 and 9
Completely void of ideas thats all.

Ive said for the last 12 months I dont rate Stoneman as a captain one bit. I dont like saying this but it'll be a sad state of affairs when he is our captain across all formats.

Marty prepared an interesting 'table' in his notes for tonight's game with counties all time records in T20.

We were 4th bottom, which surprised me that there are three teams worse than us. That said we have been to a finals day and three (iirc) quarter finals.

Why show Hastings/Onions as being in the squad if they then 'rest' them!?

Bizzare!

Wouldnt suprise me if its a marketing ploy & infact, the likes of Poynter etc turn out tommorow night.

Can't understand why the ex World Cup winning captain isn't the skipper. Rocky looks to be another mustard so far,, a faiilure

Didn't even realise Stoneman was playing until he came out to bat.

Prince and Khawaja showed a bit of class early on but Rushworth, Coughlin and Jennings bowled too straight and were always on a length. Breese and Collingwood bowled brilliantly, Jennings finished really well, took 2-9 from his last 2 overs, but Rushworth was just bowling length andgot hit all over. Think he lost it a bit towards the end and started banging it in. Coughlin finished poorly too.

Never had any momentum in the batting from the moment their offspinner went for 3 from the first over. Mustard seemed unusually lacklustre and it was only when Muchall came in there seemed to be any urgency. Too little far too late.
