T20 is killing Proper Cricket

Yes. If you read KP book he was barely allowed to miss a warm up game never mind an international fixture.
I think KP did not help himself with his attitude during that time in and around the dressing room. Like most top cricketers he was desperate to cash in on the IPL because nobody thought it could last paying the players what they where shelling out. The ECB where trying to protect the early test match series in England which clashed with the IPL but now they know they have no choice they have to compromise. The IPL dominates cricket.

Just no appeal to me watching red ball cricket in April and September. I've hardly been this season. T20 overkill during the core of summer. 8 county fixtures completed before July and 4 more from 28th aug - 28th september, absolutely shambolic. who the fuck wants to be playing red ball cricket on september 28th??
I said on here about 5 years ago the championship was just about knackered once they started with cramming in that block of 5/6 championship matches by the middle of May. The counties are also taking the mick by playing so many championship rounds of matches Monday to Thursday even when there is no one day cricket on the schedule.

On this one I agree with you.

It's almost like South Africa already had a decent t20 competition that people liked to begin with and that t20 comps in markets were Cricket isn't the main sport are doomed to fail.

It will become overkill, if you have so many t20 games people just become desensitized to the whole thing, there is only so many 6s you can watch in a week like.

Exactly this. These leagues have only been around less than 10 years but they've already peaked and are now on the downward spiral. The IPL will be an exemption to this rule however.

People may point at the BBL too but the decline will come once the money troubles catch up which will lead it to being sold to pay tv channels in an attempt to make up the losses.
