Ridiculous Idea IMO

I still have major problems with certain Olympic sports. You have NBA stars playing basketball and Premier League stars playing football, yet boxing is for amateurs.

I like this argument that a sport should only be in the Olympics if winning a gold medal is the absolute pinnacle for anyone competing. Can't see that being the case for cricket, and it would only be the case in the other sports if they went back to the amateur players!

Whilst I agree with the sentiment of your post.

If you cant beat them............Join them.

The thing about the Olympics being the 'pinnacle' for certain sports is that it's not, in a sense. Athletics in particular has a World Championships which is just as prestigious really. Maybe not to fans, but it is to some of the athletes.

The T20 would end up such a non entity IMO. Clearly the big boys wouldn't be there. Although they could allow professionals in, can you see the likes of KP and Gayle (the mercenaries they are) playing for nothing but the love of their country.

It would clash with the English summer too so there would be a clash with an already hectic schedule and you may find clubs wouldn't pay their players while they are away. These lads outside the top band aren't on a fortune so maybe more inclined to stay at home clicking on their regular salary.

England, Australia, Canada, USA, Netherlands, all the Windies, Kenya, South Africa, Holland, Namibia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, UAE, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, NZ and probably a few more would field a team.

After typing all that, I still hope it doesnt happen

If Holland can field 2 teams, I think it only fair that we can also field a GB team as well as an English team.
