T20 FA Cup

Not sure how much it will help get amateurs into the game but it certainly sounds like a great idea and I suppose the county teams will play 6 games at most (?) so shouldn't be that hard to fit into the schedule. Just take a few games off the league stage of the t20 or one day tournament.

It's a nice idea but I can't see it working to have club teams up against first class ones. When the minor counties played in the Gillette Cup hardly any ever managed to beat the pros.

Brilliant idea but wont play well with the people at the ECB because they didnt think of it.

Just needs one special innings in t20 though, far bigger chance in t20 than in a one day game for shock results

I agree it's a more level playing field, but I think you are still massively underestimating the chasm in ability between the pros and the amateurs. You would see scores under 50 off the 20 overs.

Great idea, last season I was thinking back to the old Natwest trophy that featured minor counties sides.

Probably remember that as back in the early 90s it was one of the only games DCCC would win all season :lol:

Not sure why they couldnt do the same thing now & beef it up with a combined Unis side, England U19s side (or U21s to make them more competitive), Scotland, Ireland etc
