The quote from British gas on a comparison website is significantly different from the quote on the British gas website. To the tune of 20%. Called bg and they won't match the lower rate.

You find a new supplier and they do all the work. Piece of piss. I switch every 12m.

Right but that doesn't explain the price discrepancy

Is this not just suppliers leveraging cost based on volumes?

In short, BG know that price comparison sites bring in new business. In order to be listed on The price comparison website, in this case USwitch, BG have to strike a deal to offer a price which can’t be bought anywhere else, including direct from British Gas. Hope that helps.

Yes but why not just match it?

Because you’ve gone via Uswitch? Their business model will be to attract a greater number of customers to then further qualify for greater discount.
In turn their sales strategy will differ from BG, despite the energy coming from the same supplier.

Npower have some good deals atm , use money supermarket , put in your estimated usage and it liss all the different suppliers cost estimate.

Have a look on quidco to see if any cash back did each supplier

    Jobs a goodun

N power have had the worst customer satisfaction rating seven years on the trot.

Like many others, I found it a nightmare trying to switch away from them due to their ridiculous unjustified demands.

    Beware !!!

  15. NPower an absolute nightmare of a Company to deal with.
Worst Customer experience in my lifetime. Mistake after mistake almost laughable. Would never use them again.
Green Energy now and saved a fortune. Easy to deal with as well.
Already £100 in credit on my bill.

  16. Couple of things that come to mind. They may have an exclusivity agreement with uswitch (these things are sometimes agreed as part of reaching a lower commission) and/or they may have a strict policy/pricing structure in place to avoid confusion amongst their direct sales staff.

That wasnt the thread title though was it.

Probably taking your eyes out then year after year. Do a comparison and switch. The money is better in your pocket than theirs.
