Swap deal for Borini?

Love the price of a player debate. :)

It means fk all. If Gus wants Borini and Short wants to pay £10mil then so be it.

Cant see borini wanting to be third choice striker at liverpool with the SAS, we have a great chance of signing him, could do with liverpool doing well in the next few months and no injuries to there strikers !

What's wrong with offering 3m for an opening bid?

If someone offered you £5k for your £100k house, then came back with £10k, then £15k etc. how long before you tell them to fuck off and just stop responding to their offers altogether? He's worth a lot more than £3m and it's bad business to try and take the piss.

Would like to keep both but if it means we keep borini so be it,as I can see him being a real star regardless of the team he plays in.

I have contractors who tell me £100.00 quids worth of work is worth £10,000.00 all of the time. I regulalary tell them to stop being stupid, and value it myself.

My mate a liverpool fan but from grimsby. Said borini wouldnt even be 3 choice striker if he was there...its up to borini to choose his future.

The presumably unfolded rumour in the Liverpooooooooooooool Echo is that Rodgers might consider giving Borini to us in a swap deal:

...With Johnson going the other way. Would you consider this?
Saw that story two weeks ago started by....no less than the "Sports Direct Channel"...... git coincidence or WHATTTTT I suspect its Bullshit..no wait a minute, change that to Horse shit.:lol::lol::lol:

Ok then liverpool paid 10 million for him how much should we sell fletcher for?

That's bye the bye. I'd sack the bloke for being a cunt for spitting on a taxi driver and then try and get compensation from him for his market value - probably about £5m.

Obviously that won't happen, but it should.

Nah wont happen But 7 million pound loss for being ****. The club can give me 1 million and i'll write **** on my forehead and walk down the high street ;)

Depends on what Johnson wants . If he wants to go to the scousers it's all about getting the best deal because if stays here and sulks he is shit .
In those circumstances I would be pleased to take borini as makeweight.
If johnson wants to stay I wouldn't try to force a swap but would offer cash for borini .

Your mate doesn't have much of a clue then to be honest. He's far better than Aspas and Moses who have filled the bit part role this season. Liverpool are also likely to be in European competition next season and have an extra 10-15 games to play. On top of that Rodgers rates Borini and only let him go out to get games because an injury had set him back a bit. Borini will go back to Liverpool and start about 15 games and come off the bench a further 30 times and that's before you actor in an injury to Suarez, Sturridge or Coutinho. He's really not going to choose us, or certainly not in the summer.

As I said though sometimes it's not about the individual it's about the interaction between the players whereby the cumulative effect is greater than the sum of the parts. It's easy to suggest that you sell Player A to enable you to buy Player B and then try to replace Player A who you sold......on paper it sounds reasonable but football is ALL about partnerships and the interaction on the pitch of differing players.......I wouldn't be messing with what works.

Post Of The Year. I salute you so with every fibre of my being.

The three loanees WORK. It fits. Its been a success. Get them signed asap. If it takes £20m then thats what it takes because itll cost more getting it wrong a few times for each position.
I think Mr Short is sharp enough to remember how much money he's wasted attempting to replace Bents goal threat. It'd be the same situation X3 if he thinks SAFC can conjure up whatever it is that makes the three loanees WORK in this team. I hope Poyet also isnt arrogant enough to think he can easily unearth three replacements that fit anarl.
Mr Short should give Bob Murray and Peter Reid a ring to ask if they can get through a full nights sleep without sitting bolt upright muttering Don Hutchisons name with the song "Big Yellow Taxi" playing in their heads. 'You dont know what youve got til its gone" .

No chance

Love borini though can't believe he's only 22

IF we stay up he's defs type of player we should be trying to sign, good technique, young and hungry

I wonder what you could reasonably expect from this squad next year if kept intact with no further additions besides signing permanently the loanees. Is it a top half side with maybe a couple of cup runs?

I don't think it would get top half, think we'd need a bit more quality to keep up the momentum even if we kept the same squad and I doubt very much we'd do so well with the same forwards and same ageing defenders over the course of a season.

As it happens there's no chance we'll keep the same squad anyway as there's that many on loan or out of contract.
