Swap deal for Borini?

No.

I also wouldn't break the bank for Borini. I know he has scored some vital goals, but it will certainly not be the end of the world when he goes back. I'm more concerned about holding on to Ki and Alonso.
This has to be more important. Still think we'll get Borini if he wants to play regularly.

of course if watmore bangs in 10 goals for hibs in the next few weeks we might be worrying about how we can squeeze him into the team next season.

Borini is more consistent than Johnni. But Johnson is much better when on form. Risk reward. I would keep Johnson because the upside is much greater.

Adam Johnson is our best player. Losing him will have a bigger impact than losing Bent, Gyan and Sess all together

He's consistently hinted that he will go back to Liverpool. Can't see us getting him permanent unless Liverpool let him know he isn't wanted.

I think by floating the idea of a swap Liverpool have communicated to Borini just how badly Rodgers wants him.

I'd go in at £6M but be prepared to stretch to £9M

This sounds like a feasible strategy, but perhaps first we could check whether they would take Larsson and some Nectar points

What if you're not taking the effects of synergy into effect.[DOUBLEPOST=1391611714][/DOUBLEPOST]

A month ago you would have been sectioned for that view.

Konoplyanka (sp?) is probably Borini's replacement - when they get him, it opens up the opportunity to sign Borini for just cash, without the need of Johnson to go the other way
Hopefully you are right mate. The worrying thing is Johnson could still go somewhere else if he keeps playing like this.

No. we need to keep hold of the pair if possible. They have both been excellent in the second half of the season.

I really hope Johnson doesn't get his head turned because I'd really like to see what this team can do in a full season under poyet![DOUBLEPOST=1391612248][/DOUBLEPOST]
They will reject £2M without hesitation.
Then we up it to 3.5m, 4m and finally 6m ;)

Yes. In a heartbeat.

Oh sorry, just been reading expert comments on the SMB from December.

I'd gladly offer my Nectar points if it'll help, been saving them for about 2 year now like.

I'd do it in a second. Borini is younger (potentially more valuable) and plays on the left (harder position to fill).

I think Borini is a realistic target, people keep saying "He want's to go back" He's got to say that man, Liverpool are his club, he can't come out and say "I'm staying here, fuck them" because, should we decide not to sign him he's up shit creek..... You can tell by his body language he is absolutely loving it here, he's in a League cup final and has scored in a 3-0 defeat of our local rivals whilst helping us climb the table, who wouldn't? I don't think he is good enough to secure a place in the Liverpool team, personally, I think he's mint for us but could he get ahead of the likes of Sterling, Hendo, Lucas, Suarez, Sturridge etc? Make a 3m bid, make in early in the window to signal our intentions, prepare to offer upto 6m to secure his contract.
