Swap deal for Borini?

So they sold for 3/5 of what they paid. A similar ratio would see a bid of around £6,600,000 for Borini being accepted. Obviously evey deal is different but it's no outside the realms of possibility that they'd accept.

As I pointed out though you're comparing two signings who were signed by a duff DOF pre-Rodgers and a player who Rodgers has signed twice.

Poor analysis that mate.....he was signed by Rodgers who seems to know exactly how he wants to play. He's not as good as Suarez or Sturridge but he can also play wide. I agree they might fancy the option of having a few quid to invest elsewhere but Rodgers obviously rates him and I doubt he'll be sold for less than they paid for him......I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Brazil this summer and he may end up with quite a few clubs after his services.[DOUBLEPOST=1391604189][/DOUBLEPOST]

Because Rodgers didn't sign either of them and they are alien to how he plays........Borini definitely fits the style that Rodgers likes to play.
Id imagine he will go to brazil, I can't see him staying at liverpool for that long, he just isn't a fit and isn't a top 4 side which is what they want and he wants to play. Maybe a loan will be most likely but if they could get a decent amount back id fully expect him to move

Why do you think he's not a fit for Liverpool's style of play?

Rogers signed him while he was still trying to set them up as a 4-5-1/4-3-3. He didn't impress in that formation & Rogers has since switched to a 3-5-2. There might not be any room for him in that formation other than as backup to Sturridge & Suarez.

they are aiming to play 3-5-2 which is currently on hold due to Glen Johnson being injured.
Borini's best positon is as a wider point on a front three. even if they played 4-2-3-1 Coutinho and Sterling + the lad who they tried to sign in january will be ahead of him, They also have Aspas who Rodgers signed

I hope the new boy Sooco turns good. Problem solved.

Tricky one that though......Gus himself has said he doesn't see him wide because he doesn't do defence very well and all the analysts and experts reckon he's a second striker not a primary striker but we aren't playing with 2 strikers.

If you're talking about Ki I can see there being a fair bit of interest in him if his current form continues.
Yes lots of interest from other clubs. My thoughts we pissed off Swansea trying to buy he and said you cannot take him back on loan and the chairman was ticked off we wanted to buy him. Funny Ladrup is sacked and Swansea are in trouble with best player on loan with us.

The Liverpool fan fan in our office (actually goes) was less than complimentary about him.

"He'll never make a footballer, he's useless"

It's certainly a game of opinions and he's begrudgingly admitted he's flourishing with us!

A team in Italy might pay more but can't match our wages in this country. What makes you think that there will be a mad scramble for his signiture? Yes he's done relativly well but hasnt set the world alight with open play goals (I know he hasnt had a shot at CF).

I'm pretty confident that if we try to turn his and Ki's loans permanent we have a good chance.[DOUBLEPOST=1391603896][/DOUBLEPOST]

@1/3 the price they payed.

On that rate we should get Borini for 3.3 million.

£5m gets you Danny Graham. £6m gets you Victor Anichebe. £7m gets you Nikica Jelavic or Shane Long. That's why there would be a mad scramble for Borini at anything less than £8m - because you can't buy better (and used to the English game) for cheaper. Why would they even contemplate selling him for less? Championship players like Ross McCormack go for £4-5m now an you think we can get Borini cheaper?

If Gussie wants him,we have a decent end of season run and stay up,no reason why he won't come to us.He will know he's a regular starter. As for Borini, much the same applies. Hopefully, both will have been bitten by the SNQ bug and want to stay in which case it's up to Ellis to make sure the funding is available.
