Swap deal for Borini?

He cost them 10.5 mil (11.3 mil euros) so id probably say we need to pay around 6 or 7 which for a 22 year older who is proven to work for us is good value

He cost £10.5m based on potential and is fulfilling that potential so why would they accept around £6-7m........he'll cost at least £10m imo.

Club has a few important decisions to make if we stay up........there's no doubt whatsoever that Alonso, Ki and Borini have excelled here but there's £20m worth of talent there......all things being equal and if the players are happy to stay it asks some serious questions about how ambitious we are.

won't play / not good enough for liverpool
they don't play a formation that suit him
chance to get some money to invest in other areas

That is not how football works and never has been. Someone would happily pay more than that so why would they accept such a low offer?

A team in Italy might pay more but can't match our wages in this country. What makes you think that there will be a mad scramble for his signiture? Yes he's done relativly well but hasnt set the world alight with open play goals (I know he hasnt had a shot at CF).

I'm pretty confident that if we try to turn his and Ki's loans permanent we have a good chance.[DOUBLEPOST=1391603896][/DOUBLEPOST]
But they still got £15M.

@1/3 the price they payed.

On that rate we should get Borini for 3.3 million.

Poor analysis that mate.....he was signed by Rodgers who seems to know exactly how he wants to play. He's not as good as Suarez or Sturridge but he can also play wide. I agree they might fancy the option of having a few quid to invest elsewhere but Rodgers obviously rates him and I doubt he'll be sold for less than they paid for him......I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Brazil this summer and he may end up with quite a few clubs after his services.[DOUBLEPOST=1391604189][/DOUBLEPOST]
Why did they take a hit on Carol and downing?

Because Rodgers didn't sign either of them and they are alien to how he plays........Borini definitely fits the style that Rodgers likes to play.

Our big problem with Ki and Borini is if they are available CL teams from Germany and Italy come In for them, other than that if we are prepared to stump up the cash we have as much chance as anyone, and more than a lot. 4m for Ki and 6m for Fabio and we'd get them I reckon.

Fair play, Forgot Borini was a rogers signing. Just can't see him displacing Sturridge, Sterling or suarez. I guess if he wants to sit on the bench he should go back.

If we stay up and want to push on, we should be looking to keep Johnson on his current form, buying Borini and Ki and improving the squad.

Poyet for me is not a manager that will be happy to peddle water in the Premiership, he has ambition and we are to keep Poyet he needs to backed.

I agree that the 4 across the pitch in Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling are exceptional but you can see in Borini's style of play that he could substitute for almost any of them. I do think they'll listen to offers but it won't be on the basis that he's somehow failed at Liverpool.....it will be at least what they paid imo.

If Johnson maintains his form til the end of the season, he'll be worth closer to £20m - I'm not saying that's his actual value btw, but that's Nani / Glenn Johnson / Ashley Young / Stewart Downing money, his market value.

We paid a fee based on a calculated gamble.

In short, Liverpool can fuck all the way off.
