..!
RocketsExactly mate. Quite happy for them to do it in their back garden though![]()
You know you answered your own question there? Why as a country do we struggle with pyro / flares so much when loads of European countries create displays on a weekly basis with them? I don’t agree with throwing them anywhere but don’t mind them in the stands, think they look decent. Just my opinion like.
So as a country we let the minority spoilt it for the majority. I don't think we will ever be allowed alcohol at seats in football grounds in England. However, I don't agree with it. If people can't be trusted you identify and ban people responsible. Same goes with flares/pyros, if anything goes on outside of the allocated displays you identify and ban people responsible. The issue is, they're not very good at doing that therefore it's a blanket ban for all.You know you answered your own question there?
I would like, if I was to attend, to have a pint at my seat. I can’t. I can at Rugby. We know why.
That's beside the point. "Something Bad" is more likely to happen if this isn't nipped in the bud.Christ, imagine the statement if our support actually did something bad.
Can’t argue with you at all. Sadly there are morons in society who are allowed to attend such events. They think it is cool. Probably have an equally idiotic mate film it for likes on some social media site for retards. So as a country we let the minority spoilt it for the majority. It's the same brush that football fans have always been tarred with. The idiots ruin it for everyone. I could comfortably drink a pint in my seat and not get out of hand, likewise I could spark a flare and not lob it anyones head. Like we said, the idiots are ruining it for everyone. I can guarantee as well, the people hoying the flares are doing so because they don't want to be caught. I had a mate who got done years ago because he attended a game at Man City (not an SAFC game) and a flare thrown from the back of stand landed under his seat. He then threw it over the advertising boards (thinking he was getting it out of the way) and low and behold he was arrested for it. No ifs/buts. The policing on the subject up and down the country just isn't good enough. If you had semi decent CCTV it will not be difficult to spot someone lobbing a flare 100 yards. Can’t argue with you at all. Minority yes. Police do nowt. Stewards do nowt. Normal folk could give them a clip but we know what will happen. Result = All suffer. Sadly when allocations drop the idiots won’t care in the main. The loyal, home & away, fan who now misses out will care deeply. That said let’s put it into context. A loyal, law abiding supporter misses a match v potentially 100’s of likes on FB or Instagram…… no contest really.
Worra grass.Well said mate. Anyone’s young children which, let’s face it are the next generation of supporters, should be set an example by those who k ow better. Almost dismissing it with a smirk on their faces, as some on here might do, is not at all funny. I, for one, would gladly report anyone if I was nearby.
Well I truly hope you enjoy flares and fireworks in safety. As for myself, I thought they were brilliant too around bonfire night when, as a teenager, I took risks like many do. But, on the footballing front, I can’t ever remember, in the old days, any pyrotechnics being used but the crowds and volume were unsurpassed. The passion was generated by the supporters for the supporters and the likes of the Roker Roar was unparalleled.Am I the only person who actually likes the smell of smoke bombs/pyros??![]()
