why does it?If the Big 6 leave the current pyramid goes pop overnight
Yep the Netflix fans and the end of 2021 killed it for me. It’s a show like WWE not a sport anymoreF1 is already a shadow of its old self thanks to Liberty Media. When Frank Williams, the last of the privateers, passed away it signaled the beginning of the end for me. It’s too much of a ‘show’ now.
I find it hard that people can’t get this through their heads . The big 6 are the real draw and bring all the TV contracts and sponsors into our league . No one will want to watch Bournemouth v Luton and the value of our league will plummet overnight .If the Big 6 leave the current pyramid goes pop overnight
PL broadcasting deals would collapse in value. Clubs would then face losing most of their income, can’t fulfil inflated ludicrous salaries they currently pay. Lower down Solidarity payments and trickle down through inflated transfer fees disappear. Owners of championship clubs take on the clubs with the aim of getting into the riches of the PL, suddenly the clubs they have have far less financial potential than when they bought them, so they just abandon them.why does it?
Anyone would think the EFL hadnt just agreed a much bigger TV deal for the Championship and below. Oh Wait....I find it hard that people can’t get this through their heads . You mean like a financial reset where clubs wont have to reply on a State owning them to compete? Or having to pay 150% of their turnover to compete?PL broadcasting deals would collapse in value. The fact that the bottom team in the Premiership gets about a 100m should tell you everything you need to know . Hopefully Sunderland will soon be part of that but not if the big 6 left .Anyone would think the EFL hadnt just agreed a much bigger TV deal for the Championship and below. Oh Wait....
And as for the money they "provide" how much do clubs actually see?
And our hopes / dreams and aspirations if we get there are?The fact that the bottom team in the Premiership gets about a 100m should tell you everything you need to know . Hopefully Sunderland will soon be part of that but not if the big 6 left .
In modern football terms, the EFL deal is peanuts. There would maybe be a reset in time, but clubs losing £100m TV income literally overnight would go to the wall.Anyone would think the EFL hadnt just agreed a much bigger TV deal for the Championship and below. Oh Wait....

So your hope , dreams and aspirations are to compete with Bournemouth.?And our hopes / dreams and aspirations if we get there are?
No, they have to restructure according to income. Same as any business would. In modern football terms, the EFL deal is peanuts. There would maybe be a reset in time, but clubs losing £100m TV income literally overnight would go to the wall.
You wouldnt swap with Bournemouth now then? Id like us to be able to compete without needing a State to buy us and in a vaguely competitive leagueSo your hope , dreams and aspirations are to compete with Bournemouth.?
Then they’d have similar issues. You can’t restructure immediately when you’ve got 4/5 year contracts to fulfil. No, they have to restructure according to income. Same as any business would.
What happens if the next PL TV deal is only half the value as TV companies decide its not worth it?

Clubs wouldn’t survive itMaybe this will be the thing that bursts the bubble and for the vast majority of clubs things go back to how they were before the mega money deals came in.
Whether every club can survive that is another matter.
The fear of the Big 6 leaving is what keeps them at the top and 90% of the money to themselvesThen they’d have similar issues. You can’t restructure immediately when you’ve got 4/5 year contracts to fulfil.
It is. But it’s because they’ll go bust if they leave. It’s a nasty cartel that was allowed to happen and there’s nothing anyone can do.The fear of the Big 6 leaving is what keeps them at the top and 90% of the money to themselves
Cant say i agree, we will find out in a couple of years if football in England can survive without them imoIt is. But it’s because they’ll go bust if they leave. It’s a nasty cartel that was allowed to happen and there’s nothing anyone can do.
Football could survive easily but it’s the extent of the collateral damage.Cant say i agree, we will find out in a couple of years if football in England can survive without them imo
Maybe teams need to start cutting their cloth accordingly rather than chasing the impossible dream?Football could survive easily but it’s the extent of the collateral damage.
Well they do but you could cut your Cloth accordingly when you earn £100m a year through TV and still go bust if it vanished overnightMaybe teams need to start cutting their cloth accordingly rather than chasing the impossible dream?
