Sunderland born and bred, then 20 years in London and then 20 years in Portsmouth where I live now. I also spent 1 year in Holland in the 70's and worked in Norway every summer in the 80's.

I lived in Hamble for 18 years from the late 70s and the early 80s....before that 2 years in Southsea...I had every mans dream job, I worked in the Playboy club for the 2 years I was there, what a job that was Ah...the memories are flooding back....

It's definitely worth it if you get the chance...just avoid wintertime. Gets nice and hot in the summer, lots to do, plus decent subway system to get around.
