That was the fourth relegation from the top flight in a row were we’d beat Man United at home and still went down.

Aye they hammered us and they weren’t a particularly good team at the time.

Then we beat Man United on the Saturday, classic Sunderland.

Was it shite a good season

You obviously hadn't seen the teams and performances we'd put out in years before that. Absolutely dreadful. That season, the season before and about 4 years after were the most fun I've had supporting this club.

I’d been going a few years at that point so I had seen the teams. That season was still shite, can’t look back fondly on a season that we were relegated in.

This season is starting to remind me of the season after this one (97-98) tight as fuck with all the top teams on mega points. Hope it doesn’t go the same way.
