I posted a thread with my fears before the 5-1 and was lambasted for it. October 31 came around and i was soon proved very right. Please view it below:

Newtonlee2 27th August 2010....................

.....Oh how right i was to be proven. Nolan went on to score 12 goals and Barton was one of the oustanding midfielders of the year. They both dominated us in the derby and it was totally men vs boys.

The saying i 'told you so' doesn't do make up for all the abuse i took and i expect to take the same amount with this thread.

So the question is are we really that much better?

Lets have a look at the likely starting XIs:

Newc Sund
Krul Mignolet Draw

Simpson Bardsley Draw

Collocini Ferdinand Newcastle

Taylor Brown Sunderland

R Taylor Richardson Sunderland

Barton El Mohammady Newcastle

Tiote Cattermole Newcastle

Cabaye Colback Draw (but thats being kind as ligue 1 winning french international against a young lad)

Guiterrez Larsson Draw

Ba Sessegnon (Hard to compare so i won't)

Ameobi Gyan Newcastle win but only against us

So what do we have here? 4 wins to Newcastle, 4 draws and 2 wins to Sunderland. Obviously only my opinion but i'm usually bang on the money.

Another summer and another chance to cement our status as North East top dogs sadly passed us by. I really really hope i'm wrong and we go on to stuff the horrible inbred c unts but again i just can't really see where we edge this???

What really worries is we are going to have a very young midfield against their experienced one YET AGAIN and we all know what happened last time! Bruce won't drop Elmo after his assist and we've seen him crumble in both previous derbies. He's not a big game player that lad i'm afraid.

Make no mistakes Barton will dominate and will be winding Cattermole up something rotten.

We still have a chance to do something about this. Put someone like Gardner into the mix and we suddenly have another twat in the middle with attitude and thats what you need to match Barton and co. Sorry Colback but i'd drop you for Vaughan.........very similar players but i think Vaughan's experience would help us a great deal against them.

I fear the writing was on the wall when Bruce picked his first XI for Liverpool. He doesn't learn and should always have been thinking ahead to the derby instead of firing young lads in there again when he saw how they wilted and hid in the demolition.

Haway Bruce and Quinn you still have a chance to sign a quality left winger and a decent striker. I'm sick of being second best to these twats up the road so do something about it please!

Can somebody tell me what the line up is most likely to be for both team, and I will do a comparrison using Football Manager 2011? Because I doubt Colback will start ahead of Gardner?

You must be one of these who thinks you'll win on Saturday are you? I'll pop back on here afterwards  Mackems should learn that whenever they try and mock or take the piss, it never fails to return to haunt them
nowt wrong with freedom of speach but FFS please mods don't let all these mag come on here and spoil the build up to the match. Respect some mag posters but idiots like jake 51 and this twit need removing.

At last someone who is thinking level headed, for what its worth based on my opinion on the players head to head and using your criteria here is my prediction :

Newc Sund

Krul v Mignolet Newcastle

Simpson v Bardsley Sunderland

Collocini v Ferdinand Newcastle

Taylor v Brown Sunderland

R Taylor v Richardson Newcastle

Barton v El Mohammady Newcastle

Tiote v Cattermole Newcastle

Cabaye v Colback Newcastle

Guiterrez v Larsson Sunderland

Ba v Sessegnon Newcastle

Ameobi v Gyan Sunderland

Result Newcastle 7 v 5 Sunderland = Newcastle to win by 2 clear goals, hope this doesnt work out

Are you pissed or just f***ing stupid.

Lets see how they compare in Football Manager 2011, not completely accurate but surely more knoweldgeable than you.

(The bold indicates who has won.)

Newc Sund
Krul Mignolet - Out of 36 attributes, Krul was better than Mignolet in 10, Mignolet was better than Krul in 20 and the rest were draws.

Simpson Bardsley - Out of 36 attributes, Simpson was better than Bardsley in 10, Bardsley was better than Simpson in 22 and the rest were draws.

Collocini Ferdinand - Out of 36 attributes, Coloccini was better than Ferdinand in 21, Ferdinand was better than Coloccini in 10 and the rest were draws.

Taylor Brown - Out of 36 attributes, Taylor was better than Brown in 15, Brown was better than Taylor in 14 and the rest were draws.

R Taylor Richardson - Out of 36 attributes, Taylor was better than Richardson in 18, Richardson was better than Taylor in 11 and the rest were draws.

Barton El Mohammady - Out of 36 attributes, Barton was better than Elmo in 21, Elmo was better than Barton in 10 and the rest were draws.

Tiote Cattermole - Out of 36 attributes, Tiote was better than Cattermole in 17, Cattermole was better than Tiote in 17 and the rest were draws.

Cabaye Colback - Out of 36 attributes, Cabaye was better than Colback in 19, Colback was better than Cabaye in 11 and the rest were draws.

Guiterrez Larsson - Out of 36 attributes, Jonas was better than Larsson in 15, Larson was better than Jonas in 19 and the rest were draws.

Ba Sessegnon - Out of 36 attributes, Ba was better than Sessegnon in 15, Sessegnon was better than Ba in 17 and the rest were draws.

Ameobi Gyan - Out of 36 attributes, Ameobi was better than Gyan in 9, Gyan was better than Ameobi in 21 and the rest were draws.

Final Result:
Newcastle 5.5 - 5.5 Sunderland

That is without Gardner and Vaughan and Brown lost to Taylor. (The results incorperate all aspects, such as penalty taking, freekicks etc. Purely based on defending stats, Brown won.)

Anyone else find it odd that the Op is comparing each position [other than keeper] as opposed to who they'll be up against on the day.

I think this benchmark makes all of the rest null and void

Taylor Brown - Out of 36 attributes, Taylor was better than Brown in 15, Brown was better than Taylor in 14 and the rest were draws.

:lol::lol:

^ The compparisons include everything from Freekicks and Corners, to Throw ins, to Creativity, and Acceleration. All aspects of football. Purely defending stats, Wes Brown won.

Only complete and utter clueless compare player for player and say whoever has the most best for each position must be the better team. It's honestly something I did when I was 7 but then when I hit the big 10 I realised it was something a kid done and haven't done it since...

I agree there isn't much between the two starting XIs.

Our bench is much, much stronger hopefully we can use it to good effect.

If they were playing anyone else I'd also say we have a big advantage in the striker department, but we've never been able to deal with Ameobi who generally looks like Pele on crack against us.

Our first 11 is far better, but our superiority runs deeper. Our clubs are mortal foes owing mostly to our fundemenatally differerent ideologies. Our club was born and grew to be amongst the finest in the land infused by a widely acknowledged and respected set of values. We believe in dignity, decency and fellowship with our fellow man. These ideals are not simply questioned by the mags, but fiercly fought at every turn. Our enemies will never give us an inch in this war which is why we must always be one step ahead.

I think, with both teams at full strength, we'd have a better starting XI than you lot. Your second XI would comfortably beat ours though. We've a stronger XI, but your squad depth is stronger than ours. Overall, there's little between us. Anyone saying you're much better than us is kidding themselves.

You do talk shite mind!

I dont think you can say that with any justification whatsoever now, because you know very little about your new players and the players who mostly made your first eleven better than ours last season have moved on. You've lost the edge in quality without a doubt.

I disagree, Both starting XI's are pretty similar on paper, (see my other post on page 11)
However you have lost the big characters in your dressing room. And replaced them with players who don't speak much English and are unproven in the EPL. Cabaye on paper is much better than Colback. However lots of NUFC fans weren't impressed over the weekend. Not to mention a lot of your signings are injury prown. We also have home advantage, and although it hasn't mattered too much in the past (our home record against you's is pretty awful) with your new players they may not expect such an incredible atmosphere and be very nervous.

Our squad is much stronger overall which you admitted too.

So therefore overall I think for this fixture we have the advantage.
