You said or certainly implied we don’t throw them out. What you’ve just described above will need a major overhaul of the playing side. As you say midfield and central attack ‘a mess’. Defence only good with a decent midfield. How do we do that retaining most of the current set up.

No - we need one/two decent extra players in a CM and CF and then a system to suit our players. Current first choice players can be replaced and used as squad players. It's not chucking everybody out. It's just a sensible, measured approach to our current situation.

Take Dack, Styles and Burstow out of the squad and replace them with first team players and you'd have a much improved team. There are quite a few other players on the margins that could either go or improved with decent coaching.

well that was a dull end to the season. i can't remember many when we've either been going up, down, in play offs or a cup or other.
hopefully we get a new manager in asap to give him time with the players to be able to hit the ground running next year.

Me too mate. Actually stayed for the lap of honour / appreciation, but felt a bit embarrassed.

As an aside delighted for Wednesday. Well done @Visiting owl
I didn't stay for the lap of disgrace but happy Wednesday stayed up...Bannon dictated everything today..was a masterclass how to play short incisive passes..but actually moving it forward..something we massively lack.
But fair play Wednesday...they wanted it more and they deserved the result.

Someone on here weeks ago was saying it was absurd to be worried about relegation and that we'd been safe for ages

And it's proven so, despite being completely and utterly, utterly shite we've avoided relegation. We couldnt really have done much worse the last few weeks and yet we are 6 points above third bottom so yeah we weren't going to be relegated or in the battle to stay up.

Sorry mate but you’re describing major changes needed but also say we only need 1 or 2 players. No wonder I’m confused. Looks like you’re saying we need to get in 5 first teamers.

A sort of Pritchard perhaps?

It would make a difference and confidence and momentum can carry you as well. I'm struggling to see any real development in many of these young lads we've brought in though- in terms of strength and experience gained and in the forward thinking players in terms of just plain quality in the final third.

There's also been far too many injuries in many of them to really see development, which tbh should maybe expected to a degree as they're often kids who haven't been subject to the rigours of senior football before.

Decisions to be made allover - at the back there's a lot of young lads with injuries and it regularly sees us shoehorning players in. Having let Batth go we brought in more young lads and their injuries or being completely inept like Hjelde/Styles has left us as short as we were back end of last season at times.

In midfield what of Evans? Do we let him go or take a chance on him given the time he's been out and how prone to injuries he seems to be.

Last few transfer windows have been abysmal and despite whatever people think - spending decent money on your Mundles, Hjeldes and having so many players not making an impression like Bennette, Triantis, Mayenda, Rusyn, Hemir, Pembele etc who were signed for money too means resources have been spent on players who are taking money out of the club and not contributing and in many cases don't look likely to and might even cost us to move them on.

Over a million quid spent on Triantis and Mayenda and they've managed about 7 games between them for Hibs since end of Jan. If there's no first team investment we aren't Chelsea - we can't afford to be spending those funds on players who need so much development unless we're in a much stronger financial position ourselves.

People didn't get the argument for just one or two more senior or ready pros last summer to add to the youngsters we had as they thought it would block the first team path, but all we've done is create a situation where we're bloated with young players who aren't up to it and haven't the support around them to flourish. We have bigger problems than I think you're willing to let onto.
Yes agree with that all. We had many players who looked good last year and much poorer this. Patto, Ekwah, Hume, Roberts to a lesser extent Ballard and others. I think they are all decent players but when you combine poor coaching / management, some terrible signings, playing all season without a proper centre forward or natural DM and regular injuries to the likes of Cirkin and Alese it’s little surprise the players mentioned and the team as a whole has regressed

Tbf they did very little other than their 2 goals. We should have scored a boat load, but we were still shite.
Thats the issue. The opposition usually only need one moment. They then sit back, coast to the final whistle. We then have lots of the ball so people think we did ok.

Big part in their first goal

Surprised you didn't give @Exile 1968 a run out when you went behind. Age might have caught up with him now but if he was better than a Prime Bruno Guimares he should cut it in this division. And the genocide.

It’s not the coach we need to worry about it’s KLD and Speakman.
